By mom2boyz A couple of weeks ago, I hesitantly purchased (directly from Amazon) the Euro-Pro Shark Steam Pocket Mop ... but I am SO glad I did. I LOVE this steam mop. I have TILE and WOOD floors throughout my house and they have been nearly impossible to keep clean (as evidenced by my kids' no-so-white sock bottoms). Anyway, I had been researching all of the various steam mops trying to find that "perfect" mop that would work miracles. I thought I had decided on one, but then (while flipping channels) saw the infomercial for this mop. It appeared to be EXACTLY what I was looking for. As with most infomercials, I was VERY skeptical that the product would REALLY do what it claimed to do. Luckily, I took the leap of faith, and purchased one from Amazon.com. I could not be happier with this mop. It REALLY does STEAM (alot) and get all of the gross built up dirt and grime off the floors. I HATE cleaning floors! I'm more of a carpet person, so for me to say I love this product is absolutely amazing. I had a Hoover FloorMate (which I purchased 7 years ago), but it was ALOT of effort to clean up AFTER ... and it only had the brush scrubbers (so it didn't really WIPE the floors clean) AND it required the special Hoover cleaner (which I ruined mine by using Pine Sol ... which it specifically says not to use). Then I moved to the cheaper (although, not really after you buy all of the disposable pads and cleaner) Swiffer Wet Jet. It was ok for the quick clean-ups, IF my floor was already pretty much clean to begin with. But the Swiffer Wet Jet never CLEANED my floors. It was EXTREMELY frustrating to spend time and money cleaning and then STILL see the dirty sock bottoms (which meant the floors weren't really clean). PLEASE NOTE: There are TWO (2) versions of the NEWER MODEL steam mop ... the PURPLE version has 2 heads (rectangle and triangle) with 5 PADS (2 rectangle, 2 triangle, 1 purple duster) and the SILVER/metallic version has 3 heads (XL rectangle, rectangle and triange) and 4 PADS (1 XL rectangle, 1 rectangle, 1 triangle, 1 purple duster). Both have the carpet glider. The XL kit, as well as extra PADS can all be purchased separately. I bought mine at Newegg. The things I like about the Euro Pro Shark Steam Pocket Mop are ... 1. It has a LONG 30ft. cord so you are not constantly plugging and unplugging, 2. It has sturdy/thick microfiber machine washable/reusable TWO-SIDED pads (all of the stains don't come out, but they have held up VERY well to repeated washings), 3. It has a LARGE water tank, so you are not constantly re-filling the tank, 4. It has a SWIVEL head (3 different HEAD sizes/shapes) that FLIPS for two-sided cleaning, 5. It really STEAMS while cleaning and gets off the built on dirt, 6. It cleans WITHOUT any chemicals ... only tap water (I prefer using hot water), 7. It HEATS up quickly (under a minute ... although I usually let it heat for 5 minutes). Things you should know ... 1. As with mopping, you need to vacuum or sweep BEFORE steam mopping (do this WHILE the mop is heating up). 2. Filling with hot water worked best for me. 3. PUMP/prime the mop about 10 times before you start mopping (this gets the STEAM really going). 4. Make sure you have AT LEAST 2 pads (4-sides of cleaning), especially if your floors are dirty. 5. Do NOT keep using the same pad side once it is dirty (so, check the bottom as you go) or your floors will not be cleaned and look streaky when they dry. 6. I don't *think* this mop actually gets hot enough to really sanitize (I'm not sure if any of them do), but I spray/squirt some vinegar on the floor as I go and mop over that and it seems to work. 7. The steam mop is made of hard plastic, so I'm not sure how well the handle itself is going to last over time with repeated pumpings, etc. I've noticed several reviewers commenting on a broken handle. I would say

I love the light weight and you can refill the water fairly quickly after it runs out. Extremely pleased with my purchase. 7 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Smart purchase, much better than a competitor By Dee Garza What a job this does cleaning my floors! I use it for ceramic tile, hardwood, and for vinyl. The white vinyl floor in my kitchen really allows this product to show what it can do. I used to do this floor only by hand, because it didn't look really clean using a mop or any other manual appliance. I had better luck once I started using the Swifter, but I was concerned about the expensive, strong-smelling chemical I was using, and about the disposable pads. Then I tried my sister's new Shark steam floor cleaner. It was fine, but did not deep clean. As I recall, it had only one steam jet! I noticed a lot of pull (surface resistance) when using it, so the job took a long time. And then came the Haan. What a wonder! It produces a lot of steam and really gets that old, cheap vinyl floor clean. It came with two wonderful pads, and I ordered more just to be sure I could do the floors in my whole house in one day. (Fat chance of my ever doing that!) The pads are cleaned well in my washing machine. I am so pleased I bought this brand because it really does the job! No more stinky, expensive chemical needed. Very smart purchase! 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Haan Short Handle Attachment By Donna M. Kipp I bought the short handle attachment with my Haan steam mop. If you're going to use the Haan to sanitize upholstry, mattresses, or countertops, this short handle is necessary. I think it should have been included with the steam mop purchase, instead of available as an accessory, as it is necessary for the full use of the mop. The short handle is easy to attach and it makes the Haan into a small unit for cleaning and sanitizing surfaces other than floors. The short handle is something you want to get full useage from your Haan steam mop. See all 10 customer reviews...

Amazon.com Review Sponges and mops are fine for occasional dirt, but to really blast away grime, there's nothing like a shot of steam. The Hotshot handheld steamer from Eureka provides chemical-free, on-the-go steaming power to clean just about every kind of surface that can get dirty. Use it to clean upholstery, sealed grout, bathroom tile, kitchen tile, stovetops, stove exhaust filters, windows, and mirrors. You can even steam the wrinkles out of clothing and draperies. The Hotshot is a great degreaser and kills dust mites, salmonella, and E. coli, so it's a handy tool for sanitizing food prep areas, bedding, and pet quarters. Accessories include a flexible extension hose, a straight nozzle for windowsills and ledges, a scrub brush for stovetops and grout, an angled nozzle for toilet bowls, a fabric tool, a window cleaner, a measuring cup, and a funnel. Becoming handy with all the attachments took us a few practice runs, but we found them all to be useful. The unit is comfortable to hold and refill and features a stay-cool, textured grip and a power-indicator light. Made out of high-impact polypropylene, the Hotshot weighs just 3.5 pounds and has a 25-foot power cord. --Emily Bedard

I hate cleaning. I do it only when it becomes absolutely necessary, which usually happens when I'm waist deep in clutter and mess. Wherever the cleaning bug gene is that runs in most families, it made absolutely certain to skip me. I had to clean my house before selling it recently, and I had to do the unthinkable. Yup, I had to actually exert myself in that one activity I hate more than anything else. And that'd be cleaning. Downcast and sullen, I labored through the task at hand with as much gusto as I could gather, but it wasn't until my folks, who were helping me in my endeavours, pulled out this wondrous device that the experience actually became good. Pour water in it, plug it in and let it heat up. After some minutes pass, press the trigger and the hand steamer exerts a jet of high-powered steam that will remove any stain. Yes, any stain. I was so impressed with the demos my Mom was showing me that I had to try myself on the grunge on the kitchen floor. After a few sweeps I had to try on something else. So the front of my refrigerator became my next victim. After that I was looking around for something else...anything else. And as I began this on the dryer in the laundry room I realized that I was actually *enjoying* the experience. This thing gets into cracks and crevices that noone could ever dream of getting to before, cleans them, and as a bonus sterilizes them completely. My bathroom is in cleaner, better shape now then it was when I first got the house! There's several different attachments that you can put on the nozzle to make the steam come out at different angles, and others that can allow you to steam clean mirrors or flat surfaces. It is beyond easy to operate and is perversely enjoyable, even for a self proclaimed couch-potato such as myself. I recommend this for anyone wanting to get stains or dirt off of surfaces that nothing short of molecular acid and a brillo pad will remove. But don't be surprised if your husband/fiance'/boyfriend eventually steals it from you to do the task themselves. You might even see them smile as they work! 53 of 54 people found the following review helpful. Not the best tool for every job, but *great* when it works By A Customer Through using this little device, one learns that "dirt" is really complex, and that maybe "dirt" is far too crude a term to be useful. There are many different kinds of dirt and grease. This thing works on heat-soluble "dirt", which is not always the stuff you'd expect. Most grease is heat soluble, and so it is quite effective for that. Soap scum definitely is, and it makes very quick work of that. But things like lime or calcium deposits aren't (unless we're talking about stuff less than a week old), and it is pretty useless for that. But food stains, or any kind of actual earthy dirt literally breaks down in front of your eyes, which is really cool. As far as "where the dirt goes", you just follow every spray with a wipe with Scott towels. I went through a couple of rolls on my first day....When it would work on the targeted dirt, there's no question it is the superior way to clean. Period. Unfortunately, I'd say that only accounts for about 60% of normal household dirt. But see, if you combine it with other forms of cleaning - elbow grease, chemical agents when necessary, judicious scraping, etc. it really does enhance the whole activity (visit Yahoo or WannaLearn.com or such sites for tips on cleaning tougher stuff). And I suspect that percentage would be higher if one had less, errr, established dirt in one's home. It's also really good at getting in nooks and crannies. Corners, ledges, little junctures where two surfaces meet -- it can clean there better than just about any other method. My kitchen cabinets have sort of a bumply finish, and it was great at cleaning
Bissell PowerSteamer PowerBrush Select Upright Deep Cleaner, 1623
Powersteamer® PowerBrush Select Upright Deep Cleaner. The powerful and effective way to deep clean carpets, stairs and upholstery
Amazon Sales Rank: #145398 in Home Color: Orange Brand: Bissell Model: 1623 Dimensions: 44.00" h x 11.00" w x 19.00" l, 12 amp full-size upright cleaner for carpets, bare floors, upholstery, and stairs 5-row rotating DirtLifter PowerBrush; 3/4-gallon 2-in-1 water-tank system Includes 3-inch tough-stain tool, 2-in-1 spraying crevice tool, and bare-floor tool Also includes Hard Floor Solutions and Fiber Cleansing Formula Measures 19 by 11 by 44 inches; 1-year limited warranty
Dirt is a normal part of a carpet's everyday wear and tear--but that dirt can get ground deep into a rug's fibers every time it's walked on, damaging them permanently. Portable, lightweight, and easy to use, the Bissell PowerSteamer PowerBrush Upright Deep Cleaner protects and extends carpet life by removing deep-down grit and stains, using just hot tap water, deep-cleaning detergent, and its five-row rotating DirtLifter PowerBrush. In addition to leaving carpets clean, odor-free, and gently groomed for a polished look, the unit can also be used to clean bare floors, stairs, and upholstery. Useful tools include a 3-inch tough-stain tool, a two-in-one spraying crevice tool, and a bare-floor tool. The unit's 3/4-gallon two-in-one water-tank system features a heavy-duty bladder inside for clean water, which empties and mixes with the cleaning formula during operation. The dirty water that gets pulled out of the carpets collects around the outside of the bladder, which means the clean and dirty water never mix. Other thoughtful details include a comfortable handle, quick-release cord hooks, a lint screen, and easy-to-maneuver wheels, as well as a built-in measuring cup and a removable nozzle for quick cleanup. The unit's wide cleaning path covers more ground in less time, while the 25-foot power cord means less unplugging and re-plugging when cleaning larger rooms. The unit comes with an 8-ounce bottle of Hard Floor Solutions, a 16-ounce bottle of Fiber Cleansing Formula, and a dual-purpose Scotchgard-enhanced detergent that both deep-cleans carpet and protects it from future dirt and stains. The 12 amp upright deep cleaner measures 19 by 11 by 44 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Leonard I had bought this for my wife after a lengthy search on the internet and we've not been disappointed. The first occasion to use it came after one of our four legged pets had an accident on our beige rug. It loads easily and it's handy how the clean water and the waste water share space on the small, cartridge. It's surprisingly light weight too. We'd had a Bissell previously from about 10 years ago and that was a large, 4 wheeled item that you pulled behind you. As I recall that cleaned pretty well but all the water fittings leaked no matter how hard you tightened them. I'm glad to say that this Bissell cleans even better and there are no leaks to be seen. This has been a good purchase for us! 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Steamer but not a cleaner... By Eve I bought this thinking that it would help pick up the stains on my carpet but instead it did a light wash. This machines seems to shampoo the carpet but not clean it very well. It picks up a little dirt but overall it doesn't get out the dirt from heavy foot traffic or previous stains. In short, don't waste your time (and money). 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Good value dep cleaner By Ethan King A lot of the previous reviewers' complaints were about leaving fuzzballs or other things after using this vacuum, but what they fail to mention is that with every wet vac, you're supposed to run a regular dry vacuum over the carpet before hand. This would have an effect on how much extra work the vacuum needs to do. While the vacuum did remove lodged-in dog hair, it would leave said hair in clumps on the ground. It was easy to pick up and throw away, but I agree the hair should have been sucked into the tank instead of deposited on the ground. That being said, this vacuum is great at picking up embedded dirt and making sure the carpet is dry afterwards. After running the cleaner over the rug several times, the rug was still moist, but was relatively dry the next morning. Depending on how soiled your rug/carpet is, you may need to continue passing the cleaner over it to truly get it clean. For the price (along with the rebate from bissell), I think this is one of the most cost effective cleaners you can get. See all 8 customer reviews...

It is my biggest pet peeve to have dirty floors since we don't wear shoes in the house. When the floor gets dirty or sticky you can feel it on your bare feet! With two small children, even without shoes, my floors get plenty dirty! The H20 mop is amazing! I love that it heats up HOT making me feel like it is really disinfecting. The water resevoir is large and doesn't need to be refilled very often. The triangle shaped mop that gets into corners wonderfully! I love that you don't have to pump it, and the steam is continuous. I've had 3 steam mops. The first was the Original Thane H20 mop, but after 2 years and 2 houses and many many uses, it finally died on me. So I went to Costco and the Shark Steam Mop was there with an instant $10 rebate. I ended up getting it because it had decent reviews and I was in need of something right away. I was so disappointed with the Shark! I had to go over my floor TWICE with 2 pads and SEVERAL refills of water to get it clean. And I still didn't feel like it was as clean as when I used the H20 mop, which in the past, I only had to go over the floor once, using 1 pad without having to refill. I hated that you had to pump the Shark mop to get steam out of it, and that the floor didn't feel hot to the touch after going over it. Most of the steam seemed to be just going into the air. Also, the pad only seemed to get dirty in the middle, the sides where still clean, and the pad kept falling off the velcro attachment. The next day the Shark Steam Mop went back to Costco and I went on [...] purchase another H20 mop. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there is now a new version of the H20 mop called the H20 mop ULTRA. It arrived today and I am in steam clean heaven! I am posting a review of the Ultra here, since the product is not on amazon yet. The Ultra has the same functions as the original H20 mop PLUS it detaches and acts as a household steam cleaner for grout, sinks, toilets, etc. Although it is twice the price as the original it is absolutely worth the money if you can afford it, and you also want a steam cleaner to clean not just the floor, but the whole house! I ended up buying the 3 year extended warranty for an additional $20. A major improvement to the Original, the Ultra has a longer cord and an even larger reservoir for water. I knew I wouldn't be disappointed in it's capabilities to clean the floor since I've owned the original. Even though I had steam cleaned the floor only 3 days ago with the inferior Shark, the h20 mop picked up a lot of dirt that the Shark left behind! After cleaning the floors, I was eager to detach the mop head and test the steamer out on my bathroom grout! The house we live in now is an older home, built in the 50's. The bathrooms are tiled with wide grout lines at the sinks. I put the steamer to work on our most used bathroom (the kids bathroom as well as the main bathroom in the house) and I am so amazed. The grout in the kids bathroom (sink) was practically brown from years of use and now it is white again. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures because I'm so amazed! SO AMAZED. I had tried in the past to clean the grout with bleach, soft scrub, just about EVERYTHING. I thought it was just stained from years of use from previous owners of the home. Just a few minutes using the Ultra and it looks brand new again and I used only PURE WATER! I can't wait to tackle the rest of the house! I LOVE LOVE this product. 37 of 38 people found the following review helpful. The very best By Mary Ann Like the other reviewers, this is a great product. It comes with 3 head-covers, and that is adequate. Delivery was fast. It works great on hardwood, vinyl, braided area rugs, and a low-nap carpet. That is all I have used it on, so far, but there are certainly no complaints. 29 of 31 people found the following
