BISSELL PROdry carpet cleaner

Amazon Sales Rank: #285766 in Home Color: Silver Brand: Bissell Model: 7350 Dimensions: 43.50" h x 12.00" w x 18.00" l, 28.00 pounds Fast-drying carpet cleaner cleans both carpets and area rugs TLR PowerRoller floor brush traps, lifts, and removes dirt and debris Dries in 30 minutes; 8-foot hose; tough-stain tool and OxyGen2 PowerTool Includes 16-ounce Fiber Cleansing Formula and trial-size OxyGen2 Measures approximately 18 by 12 by 43-1/2 inches; 1-year limited warranty

Equipped with a 6-1/4 amp motor, this fast-drying carpet cleaner makes cleaning carpets as easy as vacuuming. The unit's TLR PowerRoller floor brush not only lifts, traps, and removes dirt and debris from carpets and area rugs, but it also absorbs the majority of the cleaning spray from the machine for fast drying in less than 30 minutes. Plus, area rugs can be cleaned where they lay because the cleaning solution won't soak through. Choose between floor cleaning or cleaning with tools by turning the Ready Tools dial. The “tools” setting allows for above-floor cleaning of upholstery, stairs, creases along baseboards, and hard-to-reach areas. Simply choose the appropriate tool for the job, attach it to the flexible ready-to-use 8-foot hose, and it's ready to go. Tools include a tough-stain tool and an OxyGen2 PowerTool, both made from 100-percent post-consumer recycled materials. The OxyGen2 PowerTool, in combination with OxyGen2 multi-purpose formula, works as an advanced stain-fighting tool for removing tough stains such as coffee, juice, cola, and red wine. Other details include a 1/2-gallon clean-water/solution tank, a carry handle, large easy-to-maneuver wheels, and a 25-foot power cord with Quick Release cord wrap. A 16-ounce bottle of Fiber Cleansing Formula and a trial-size container of OxyGen2 are included, and the TLR PowerRoller can be washed or replaced as needed. The carpet cleaner measures approximately 18 by 12 by 43-1/2 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty. From the Manufacturer What Is Carpet Cleaning and Why Is It Worthwhile? Carpet cleaning is a process that loosens and removes most harmful dirt and ground-in grit, which may be deep down in your rugs and carpets. The PROdry is a home cleaning system that uses a combination of hot tap water, Bissell advanced deep cleaning formulas, the TLR PowerRoller, and suction to safely and effectively clean carpets and area rugs. In additional to trapping, lifting, and removing the dirt and grime, the TLR PowerRoller absorbs the majority of the water and formula, meaning your carpet and area rugs dry in less than 30 minutes!

I have their HealthyHome upright vac and absolutely love it. Also have their SpotBot (for spot carpet cleaning) and their FlipIt (for hard floor cleaning) and put both to use regularly (when you have multiple cats, you need lots of cleaning equipment!). So I was expecting another home run from the ProDry.Big disappointment! While it has some merits, the bottom line is that it is not nearly as effective as a traditional carpet cleaner. The unit assembles easily. Just four screws and you're good to go. You fill the clean water tank (located in the rear) with hot water and cleaning fluid, just like a conventional carpet cleaner. The dirty water tank is the front. What's different about the ProDry is the roller bar.Rather than spray water on the carpet and then suck it back up, the ProDry wets a roller bar that, in turn, rubs on the carpet and (in theory) cleans it. The roller bar looks just like a long nap paint roller (e.g., the type you would use to paint a textured wall). The benefit of this approach is that the carpet is not soaked with cleaning fluid, thus cutting down on the dry time. Also, it's good for area rugs, since the cleaning fluid won't soak into the carpet and damage the floor below. That all sounds good, but the be-all and end-all of a carpet cleaner is whether it actually cleans the carpet. The ProDry did a very poor job on a thick pile carpet (a 10 by 15 area rug). While it was barely damp when I was done, it was also barely clean. I've had much better results with a conventional carpet cleaner. Even the SpotBot did a better job! (Yes you can use a SpotBot to clean a large rug -- use the hose and set aside a LOT of time!)It did a bit better on a loose nap rug but again, the results were significantly below what I would consider to be acceptable. The roller bar can be cleaned and should last (according to Bissell) for six months. The problem is that removing it for cleaning is a real bear -- you have to remove several screws to get it off the machine. I was surprised by this design issue given the thought Bissell has put into their other products to make them easy to use.It also has a spray nozzle and hose system for cleaning stairs, furniture, etc. That worked well - just turn the dial on the front to switch to the hose, and it dispensed the fluid and sucked it back up with minimal fuss. It also has a rather unique cleaning head (in addition to the regular one) that can be filled with the Bissell OxyGen cleaning fluid. That was a bit messy in terms of leaks, but a nice idea. I'm a bit concerned about the build quality of the hose assembly - seems rather flimsy.I'll use this mainly as a stair cleaner using the hose and nozzle. I've been using my SpotBot for that, and the longer hose and bigger tanks will make that job easier. Other than that, I can't see much benefit to this model, and I don't feel it is worth the cost charged.I'd recommend the ProDry only if you have nothing but area rugs that are brand new and need only the most gentle of cleaning. For anything else, I think you can do a lot better with a more conventional carpet cleaner from Bissell or Hoover. 16 of 16 people found the following review helpful. Carpet Express C4 Remanufactured Carpet Steam Cleaner Like Rug Doctor

his Rug Doctor Style Carpet Cleaner is a 'steam' carpet extractor for cleaning carpet, upholstery, vehicle, RV & boat interiors, plus more. This machine does NOT have a heater. It uses HOT tap water. This machine is made in the USA by Carpet Express® whose principal owner co-founded the Rug Doctor® in 1973. The 33 years of industry experience is evident in the design, quality & dependability that you will notice with this machine. Our Experience with the Carpet Express C4 Low Moisture Machine! When we put this machine out in our rental stores, our customers preferred this low moisture machine over the other brands of carpet cleaners we offered. Some of our stores even requested that we pick the others up! User Serviceable Components The user serviceable components (Pump, Vacuum, Brush Motor), should you need to repair anything after the warranty, are easily accessible from your local vacuum supply store. If not, we are always willing to provide you with reasonably priced replacement items. Should you take a look "under the hood", the first thing you will notice is all the major components are in one convenient location. This puts the vacuum and solution pump, very close to the working area. Powerful Components in better location than the other guys... The main difference in this Carpet Express C4 a Rug Doctor Style Machine, is the vacuum motor location. It is in the bottom of the unit, close to the suction pick-up opening in the front. In some others, it is in the top, alot further from the suction opening, reducing the efficency of the vacuum motor. Therefore, more solution is recovered resulting in a drier fabric with less residue left in the carpet (which encourages faster resoiling). Low Moisture System just works better! Because the low moisture system dispenses less solution to begin with & the vacuum extracts more of that solution ----- you benefit from a carpet that dries sooner & contains less detergent residue, so it stays cleaner, longer.

I had recently rented the Rug Doctor machine and am not sure which one cleans better. The Carpet Express I am quite sure has better suction. After going over an area 3 times it didn't feel any wetter than after the first time. Rug Doctor strongly recommends not going over an area more than twice. I did and the carpet got too wet.CE seems easier to handle that the RD. Pushing it around was less a problem than the RD. It has a rotary brush an opposed to the shaking or vibrating brush on RD. Not sure which brush style cleans better though. Carpet Express seems to remove dirt as well as the Rug Doctor but sucks up more moisture than RD leaving carpets drier. One negative thing, the CE instructions direct you to use the container that collects dirty water to also mix clean water and carpet cleaning detergent. That's like mopping the bathroom floor with a cleaning solution that's in the toilet stool. Not a good idea. Just use a clean bucket. The ideal may be to clean with Rug Doctor and suck up left over moisture with a Carpet Express. Not sure but I am leaning toward the CE as being better than the RD.I have used pro carpet cleaners and don't think they do a better job than renting a RD or CE. If you have the time and don't mind breaking a sweat by all means do it yourself.(Following reviews from another website)Carpet ExpressPros:* Extracted nearly all of the water we put into the carpet swatches.* Best suited for carpets that are exposed to moderate traffic.Cons:* Cleaner may not remove very heavy soils.* Testers said the cleaner was bulky and heavy to push.* The handle isn't height-adjustable; several of our taller testers had to lean forward while using this cleaner. (The one I rented had an adjustable handle like RD)* The unit cleans and extracts the carpet only on the backward stroke, making it difficult to maneuver around a room.* Some controls may not be intuitive, and you may have to ask a sales associate for a complete instruction manual.* Upholstery attachment tools can be used with this cleaner; but they weren't included with the rental. (I rented from Home Depot and attachment tools came free, RugDoctor at Lowes was an extra $3)Rug Doctor Mighty ProPros:* Picked up a significant amount of dirt in Institute tests and should work well on high-traffic areas.* Extracted almost half of the water we put into the carpets.* Controls are easy to understand and use.* Manual is complete and accurate.Cons:* The machine cleans and extracts only on the backward stroke, making it more difficult to maneuver around a room.* Can be heavy to push when filled with water.* The handle moves forward and backward, but doesn't extend up or down; several of our taller testers had to lean forward while using this cleaner.* Solution and water must be mixed in a separate bucket and poured into the tank, which can be messy. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Much too loud!!! By R. Ieronimo I have rented Rug Doctor to clean my carpeting in the past and tried this Carpet Express unit from Home Depot today. The price was only twenty dollars for four hours. The unit I rented was brand new. It isn't too heavy and simple to use. It extracted a lot of dirt from my carpet. The problem was that it was unacceptably loud. They should provide a pair of quality ear plugs with this unit! I much prefer the Rug Doctor. See all 2 customer reviews...

It does a great job and does a deep cleaning. Be careful -- don't sit it on a wood floor as it will take the finish off. I purchased this item for home use and am now buying one for work. Great item! 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Not so great By jeannette My issue with the steamer is as follows:The cloth pad falls off at times. Also, you are basically smearing the dirt around your floor as you clean because the dirt cakes on the cloth. The cloth never fully looks clean even with a wash in the washing machine. They get duller and duller. My steamer quit working today after only 8 uses. It rusted around the cap and begin making an odd noise. See all 3 customer reviews...

Kindel Since I've only used this a couple times, I'll update this review if it turns out to be too optimistic. As expected, the vacuum cleaner is very lightweight and compact. It has two settings: high and low. For my purposes, the low setting is perfect; since I have wood floors and scatter rugs, the high setting is unnecessary and tends to grab up the rugs. I think the high setting would be sufficient for carpets though. Best of all, the vacuum is surprisingly quiet - especially on the low setting (I had recently bought a Dirt Devil upright, cheap but 12 amp, which sounds like the proverbial jet engine revving up). One bag comes with the vacuum, and more can easily be ordered from Amazon. The one drawback so far, which keeps it from getting five stars, is that the wand assembly tends to be easily pulled apart. There are no tabs to connect the two metal wands together or to connect the metal wands to the hose connection; all three are just fitted together, and going back and forth over rugs often requires holding the wands together to keep them from pulling apart - I'm reluctant to tape them together since that would limit the vacuum's versatility. The cord is reasonably long, considering how compact the vacuum is; but the retraction mechanism requires working with to get the cord completely retracted. All in all though, a great product for the price.UPDATE: After having used this product for three months, I still consider it an excellent product. The only thing I would add is that the one thing I disliked about it - the flimsy wand assembly that keeps pulling apart - is really starting to get on my nerves; and I'll undoubtedly have to end up taping the pieces of the wand together. Even so, I'm still glad I bought this vacuum cleaner. It was a great buy.UPDATE #2: After almost a year, I'm still pleased with the product. I took the advice of the commenter and taped the end of the wand that kept coming loose before attaching the other wand; this worked beautifully. The bags do fill up very quickly - even with manually removing the pet hair that sticks to the brush bristles and putting it in a separate bag. All in all, though, this is an excellent machine 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Good vacuum, good price. By Clifford B. Paez This vacuum is very small and lightweight, but it has ample cleaning power, even at the low setting. Extremely quiet and easy to carry. Bags are cheap, almost a $1 ea. It doesn't have a rotating brush for carpeted floors, but for the price we didn't mind, most of our flooring is hardwood. Still it does have two setting for carpet and hard floors, the hard floor setting brings the cleaning head closer to the floor with a brush and squeegee seal to help pickup dirt. Comes with a small attachment that cleverly transforms from a small nozzle to a brush end, and conveniently snaps on the back of the main unit. Only minus is the method of connecting the pipes might lose tension over time, but a thumbscrew clamp could fix that when the time comes. Small so it's easy to store. Overall great affordable vacuum. Just what we were looking for. 6 of 8 people found the following review helpful. fairly good By Tingting I bought this vacuum by accident(clicked the wrong item to buy).
