By Charles M Edens I purchased the shark because I was having a problem with my hand hurting me for days after scrubbing/cleaning my kitchen, bathrooms and laundry rooms. I would have been satisfied it it did just half of what it claimed on the infomercials. So, I decided to test it out on the small bathroom. I put the white microfiber cloth on the long stick and attached it to the hose. In less than 30 seconds I was wiping hair, and dirt off the baseboards with no effort. I did all the baseboards in under 5 minutes and completed the entire batroom in under 15. After completing the baseboards and floors, I took the microfiber cloth and wand off and used the direct steam to clean the sink, mirror, shower, and toliet. My bathroom floor, baseboards, & entire bathroom have never been cleaner. When I was done I was also imperssed that I didn't even break a sweat or smell like chemicals. The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that I wish the cord would retract into the device. The cord is really long and I found it often getting in the way when I was down on the floor working on the baseboards. Other than that, this is an awesome machine and it exceeds my expetations!!! 94 of 104 people found the following review helpful. Complicated, ineffective and dangerous - read whole review!! By clean fanatic First off - let me say that I have the Shark Steam Mop and LOVE it. I am some what of a clean freak and have tried a million different cleaning products and tools. I was excited when I saw the commercial for this steamer because I have had such great results from the mop. I purchased the unit from Bed Bath & beyond yesterday and cleaned with it earlier this morning - it is going back this afternoon! Each attachment seamed as though it would reach any area I can get to and then some. I cleaned our bathroom first. I used the Wedge tool to clean the counters which worked well enough but I couldn't use the sink because of the round basin shape. I did switch to the long narrow attachment and had better luck but not much. I found it cumbersome to have to turn the wand at so many different angles just to try to get one small area finished. In the shower - the walls were fairly easy to do but again - not on the rounded area. The floor of the shower didn't come remotely clean even after switching to the scrubbing wedge pad. As for the mirrors, the pad designated let the mirror linty and streaky. I used the long attachment to reach around the back of the toilet and was able to reach areas i have otherwise had a difficult time reaching but again the attachments didn't fit well for the job. I read other reviews that people were unhappy having to refill the tank so many times and this is ABSOLUTLY TRUE!! Switching the attachments so many times for one room doubled my cleaning time and I ultimately went back and cleaned many areas over with my typical cleansers. Lastly and VERY, VERY important that it is extremely easy to burn yourself when using this. When using an attachment and holding it flat or upright is not a problem. Yet for areas that you need to invert the attachment cleaning in a downward motion; the steam comes up and burns your hands. The pockets sinch with a cord to keep them on but they a good deal of steam to escape when holding in this angle. I constantly had a problem with this as there were lots of places to clean aiming downwards. I was so frusterated yet tried most of the attachments in order to give it a chance but still wasn't impressed. Hope this helps anyone who is searching for a thorough review. 43 of 46 people found the following review helpful. Could not believe it! I actually look forward to mopping now. It's easy to use and doesnt push the dirt around. The pads absorb the dirt, the water, and the floor dries in seconds. I love it. Buying the replacement pads can be expensive but I found out that the H20 mop pads are cheaper and they can be used with the dirt devil steam mop and they work just as well. Be sure to buy the dirt devil steam mop with the carpet glider attachment because it is NOT sold separately. 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Cleans well, difficult to push By Cynthia160 My son got his bathroom floor super clean with this mop, but I find it a bit difficult to push. Still, it's well worth the purchase. Be sure to order additional covers. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Buyer be beware! By Lisa B. Dont even bother with this mop, its not worth it! Very, very hard to push. It would not get the dirt out of the indented pattern of my vinyl no matter how long I left it on it or pushed it back and forth. Does not swivel, the head is an awkward design so it doesnt fit into small spaces, very difficult to get along walls with, doesnt hold very much water (it took 13 refills to do my kitchen and dining room and I have a small home). Very disappointed with this mop. Iam taking it back and getting to shark brand, it cost more but hopefully it will be worth the extra money. See all 14 customer reviews...

Great for brick floors By 1amazonreviewer As advertised the Shark 2-in-1 Vac-Then-Steam can be used on sealed hard floors such as hardwood, linoleum, tile, marble and stone. This review includes using this product on hardwood floors and on (sealed) brick floors. Model MV2010CO comes with four (4) heavy duty and four (4) all purpose micro-fiber steam pads. The all purpose pad on an uneven, brick floor works better than the heavy duty pads. The heavy duty pad is thicker and does not 'glide' over an uneven floor, when steaming, as easily. And you will know, when it is time to change (and clean) the steam pad because you won't get as much steam. Also, you want to remember to place the Shark Vac-Then-Steam on the storage tray when you have just finished steaming your floors... otherwise, the heat 'will' mar your floor. Ordinary tap water is all you need to steam the floors - no (harsh) chemicals to continually purchase to steam clean your floors. If you have hard water it is recommended that you use distilled water. Purchased this item with eight (8) cleaning pads - Model MV2010CO - NOT at Amazon but at a local warehouse saving $$$. The other Shark 2-in-1 Vac to Steam models available at Amazon do NOT have the eight (8) extra micro-fiber steam pads. Nor do they come with the extra dustcup filter or the post-motor filter. Or have the extra long 30 foot cord. Additional replacement parts for the Shark 2-in-1 Vac-Then-Steam can be purchased from sharkvacthensteam . com - the Official Site. 1 All Purpose Cleaning Pad ($7.95 each) and 1 Heavy Duty Cleaning Pad ($8.95). 15 of 17 people found the following review helpful. ;0) By Romance Novel Junkies I Like this vacuum ,it vacuums then steams. The vacuum does it's job but for me I still have to sweep a little after i vacuum because there might be little bits of debris that might be left over but as i said before it does its job, as for the steam it steams well 10oz of water isn't enough if you have more than the kitchen floors to clean. I like the fact that the micro fiber is machine washable. All in all it's good had for 2 months and so far so good bought mines at my local BJ's outlet. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Best Floor Cleaner I have ever Used!! By Byrdie S I have hardwood floors and tile floors. I had several different products and mops to keep my floors clean. I bought this and have thrown all the others away. First of all the vaccum is great. It can't suck up large items but will get the rest. Its great for the fine dust that never seems to be caught. This vaccum Does catch it. The steamer, Is amazing even though I thought I had kept my floors clean I realized I hadn't. I've not had to buy floor cleaner since I bought this steamer. A cup of water cleans my kitchen, bathroom hallway, bedrooms and Laundry room. So easy. For really stuck or sticky messes leaving it on for just a minute gets it up. There is no residue on the floor, which is great since I have small children. It dries almost instantly. Leaving my floors clean, shiny, and disinfected. LOVE it. I recommend this to everyone!!! Works phenomenally well, but needs constant cleaning of filters and traps By Todd Bartholomew I upgraded from an older Bissell Little Green Machine to this unit based primarily on my experience with Bissell products. The PROheat has a number of nice features that ultimately sold me on it and after using it for a few months now I'm fairly pleased with it. I particularly like that you can choose to either have the heat on or off. I've heard some people say that using the heat can break down your carpets more quickly and cause the stain to get worse as it picks up new dirt that is tracked in. I don't know if that's not the case, but since my old Bissell unit lacked heat but did a fine job, I pretty much use this minus the heat. Even with the heat off I'm stunned at how good a job this unit does. It's even cleaned stains that I gave up as a lost cause. Most astonishingly, I usually vacuum first before using the steamer and then vacuum again once it's dry. I've discovered I actually vacuum up MORE dirt after steam cleaning than I did before. Clearly this machine is knocking loose built up dirt which means cleaner and nicer appearing carpets than ever before. I also liked the wand attachment from my old Little Green machine, especially for upholstered pieces and hard to reach spots and this thankfully has that. But there are some drawbacks and limitations. At least initially you will pick up a LOT of carpet fibers when you use the machine, which means FREQUENT cleaning of the rotating brushes and especially the multiple filters on the unit. In some instances I wound up using tweezers to get out fibers from the particularly small filter on the underside of the water tank. The one on top is easier to clean out, but particles trap almost everywhere on this machine. The water tank holds a pitifully small amount of water and/or cleaning solution which means frequent refills, and it slows down the whole cleaning process. The self contained tank is easy to empty, but if you think that will eliminate odors from dirty water guess again, it doesn't. The tank does seem to leak or the seals don't hold tight and so dirty water does collect in the well that the tank sits in, which ads to the nasty smells as well as adding yet another think you have to clean up. Another particularly annoying habit is the dirty water seeping out the front of the machine by the cleaning rollers when you turn off and store the machine. This is really disgusting and trust me, don't store it on carpet or even leave it sitting there for very long as it WILL leak! When in use loose fibers tend to gather on the underside of the machine around the brush rollers so you manually have to gather it up by hand, which slows down the cleaning process. Once you've cleaned your carpet a few times that problem (hopefully) should minimize, although it has yet to happen for me. As a result there's a considerable amount of maintenance you have to do to ensure your machine is operating under optimum conditions. Even so, it's hard to argue with the results. I would probably buy this same unit again, but would also read up on other models just in case they operate more easily. Perhaps I was used to the utter simplicity of the Little Green Machine and sometimes I wish I was still using it, sad to say. 42 of 43 people found the following review helpful. Very Good for the Price By S. Mason I just purchased a Bissell ProHeat today and am definitly pleased with my purchase. The carpet which was in rather poor shape has seen a clear improvement and IMHO a professional couldn't have done a better job. The cleaner itself was simple to assemble, straight-forward to load with cleaning solution (I like the combo-tank idea!), and very easy to use. One drawback was the limited size of the tank for holding cleaning solution, I found myself refilling it 4 times to do 3 rooms and a lazy-boy chair. Of course re-filling was

De Young The steamer mop is ok, but doesn't seem hot enough and resevior seems too small to complete a room. As for handheld steamer, the curved nozzle attachment is useless. Looses pressure and steam when it hits the curved part. It also doesn't seem hot enough. I can put my hand right in front of the nozzle. By Nancy Jb Anderson I purchased the Dirt Devil Mop and hand held steamer as a package. Not only were they less expensive than the Shark mop by itself, but they are much more user friendly. The Dirt Devil has an on/off switch, is easier to move around, and seems to hold more water. The hand held is good, but I'm not sure if I have the hang of it yet. I'd rather hold back judgement on that...All in all, I am much happier with this product than the Shark. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. TOTAL PIECE OF CRAP!! By TA152H I have used this detergent for several months with my Hoover Steamvac and generally like it quite a bit. It is relatively poor at doing much with stains, particularly those that have been in the carpet for a long time (but then again, aren't they all poor at that?), but for traffic lanes where there is a lot of dirt and/or grease, if you take your time and go over it a few times, it is a very good product. I will say that sometimes you have to give it a little time too. I have broken down seemingly impossibly dark areas with this shampoo, although the first pass seemed to do very little, and quickly going over it seemed to only work slowly. So, if all else fails let the water/detergent sit on the area for a little while while you work on another area and then go over it again and see if that helps. It has for me in some instances There are a couple of things that make me give it a four instead of three, which I would give it based on its cleaning ability. The first is the smell. It is very pleasant and I have had several positive comments on how the carpets smelled after using it. Outside of Hoover's Pet Formula Pet Detergent, this is best smelling detergent I have ever used, and I have worked with many. The other "plus" is that it is easy to remove from the carpet. After I use the detergent, I do at least one "rinse" application where I just use water to get up the residue of chemicals I left behind. With this detergent, it comes up very easily and does not require repeated applications, whereas with many others you must do the same areas many, many times to get all the residue from the carpet. One last area I want to bring up is "browning". Some chemicals used on carpets have an unpleasant tendency to turn your carpet brown as the chemicals dry on the carpet. To give you an example, I did a carpet and it was quite clean, with few stains remaining. A few days later, I had monstrous brown stains in a few areas on the carpet. I had used several stain removers to help with the original spots, and these were apparently the cause. So, I went over it again with water to remove the browning, but once again they came back when it dried, seemingly with almost the same intensity. Intuitively, I disliked adding more residue by using the detergent, but I figured water was not working so I had nothing to lose(and as I mentioned, this detergent has no residue problem). I used this detergent and apparently it helped remove the other chemicals more effectively and lessened the browning problem I was having. Also, this chemical does not cause browning at all. It was some other chemical I used for the stains (I used too many to know which one, as the initial stains were quite stubborn). The only reason I am not giving this a five is because I do not want to give the impression that this is some kind of super cleaner and give false expectations. It does work pretty well, and is a very agreeable shampoo to work with, both in odor and ease in which it comes out of the carpet. It also is not harsh on skin if you get some on you. Overall I like it very much and will continue to purchase it as I need it. I probably would even if it did not clean at all, it smells so good. 15 of 15 people found the following review helpful. Does a Professional Job! By P. Kelley This detergent works very well. It has a pleasant oder and has a very low "suds effect", which allows the rug machine to work as designed without premature filling of the recovery tank. This is the detergent designed exclusively for the Hoover SteamVac which is by far the best rug cleaner available on the market. So stick with the Hoover name. I bought this for $19.95 and free shipping from Amazon for a 128oz size bottle which will give me around 26 refils. To put it another way, that's 26 gallons of carpet cleaning solution. When my Bissell Steam Mop finally 'died' and I found out they didn't make them anymore I was devastated. The only place I found to buy them was ebay at a whopping $250! Anyway, I searched online for other models and read all their reviews. None of the reviews for other products sounded any where near the quality and hard work of my old Bissell. I saw this model (The Steamboy) and it looked similar to the Bissell, however - nobody had written a review, so I was a little skeptical. I'm here to tell ya - this product is as good or, dare I say, even better - than the Bissell for several reasons: 1. it is lighter weight (but not flimsy) so my arms don't get tired 2. the head pivots easier and it is triangular in shape so it gets into the nasty corners under my kitchen counters and behind my toilets even better 3. the pads are easier to put on than the Bissell and the draw string to tighten them on is longer and therefore easier to work with and lastly 4. it has a carry handle and doesn't fall over when standing upright as my old Bissell did. Cons are 1. you have to make sure that the tank is all the way in or it is a little drippy 2. the cord could be longer, but I can't remember the Bissell's being any longer than this one. So, if you want to replace your Bissell or give one as a gift this is definately an affordable option. If you've never used a steam mop, you will be amazed - and disgusted - by how clean your floors get and realize how dirty they REALLY were all those years when you used the ol' mop and bucket. This is faster too and requires no chemicals to clean! 156 of 159 people found the following review helpful. The Steam Mop SHOWDOWN: First hand comparisons and studying of comps By Chandler (update: This review was updated on 11-2-09 after I got to compare the Bissell as well as add notes about the Ladybugg steamer at the bottom, and then on 11-30 when I got to compare the SteamFast SF-140 and on 12-7 to compare the Steam Boy) I live in a neighborhood where EVERY home is "green built certified" this means that, to have that certification, the builder built no homes with carpet. All the main floors are polished concrete and the upper floors wood. The bathrooms all have tile and/or slate in every home. Because of this, as you could imagine, steam mops are quite the neccessity...not only because they get the hard surfaces better than anything else, but because they are also "green" and clean chemical free. I'll be honest, for us...that's a bonus but we weren't cleaning chemical free before. We like chemical free for our pet's paws but I'll confess I was mopping with chemicals before I got my steamer and just kept the pets out of the room while doing it because, up until then, I couldn't get it clean any other way. Okay, so that said...we decided to have a steamer show down to compare 7 different steamers because my friends and I knew as long as we are in these homes we are gonna have to have a steamer to get all these hard floors clean...we may as well figure out which one to buy next go round. Because my own home is graced with 2 cats, 3 dogs, and two gregarious cooks, my kitchen floor (which had not ever been cleaned by a steamer since my steamer had just arrived) was the testing spot. Mind you, I vaccuum twice per week and do a mega mop twice a week. I THOUGHT I had pretty clean floors in spite of my pet capacity. I thought wrong. These picked up dirt so well it's scary So here's the results: 1. steam mops are the mac daddys of clean floors. What these things picked up was tremendous and no comparison to my vigorous prior constant major mopping. 2. So now I'll break down the elements of each mop we used and then go into more detail about each at the end. We tried out: "S": The shark by Europro "E" The Envirosteamer by Eureka "H" the haan steamer "M" the Monster "B" The Bissell Green Tea "SF" The

Euroflex Monster Floor Steam Cleaner Blue EZ1

The only steam mop with front steam jets - cleans right up to the edge of the room, ideal for vertical corners, stair risers and kitchen baseboards. Also useful for pre- treating stains. The compact structure and curved reclining handle is very handy and efficient. Monster floor can easily reach into difficult corners and under furniture. The carpet sledge simply clips on to the base of the monster floor. The Microfibre carpet pad is trapped inside the sledge. With the sledge fitted the monster floor just glides over rugs and carpets with very little effort. The carpet pad will pick up surface grime, and the steam loosens the grit, animal hairs and ground-in dirt which can then be vacuumed away as the super hot dry steam leaves the carpet dry in a few minutes.

Okay, so that said...we decided to have a steamer show down to compare 5 different steamers because my friends and I knew as long as we are in these homes we are gonna have to have a steamer to get all these hard floors clean...we may as well figure out which one to buy next go round. We tried out: "S": The shark by Europro "E" The Envirosteamer by Eureka "H" the haan steamer "M" the Monster "B" The Bissell Green Tea CORD LENGTH: so you don't have to stop and unplug and replug in somewhere else: Shark ( will be referred to as S):20 feet Envirosteamer (will be referred to as E): 25 feet Haan: (will be referred to as H)19'8" Monster (will be referred to as M): 25 feet Bissell (will be referred to as B) 17 feet STEAM TEMPERATURE: this is a primary element. The hotter the steam, the more dirt picked up and hot steam will also kill parasites, mold and mildew and loosen more dirt: S 110 degrees. lame E 220 degrees. very hot H 212 degrees. very hot M 266 degrees. hottest...although the envirosteamer and haan seemed plenty hot enough. The shark didn't clean nearly as well and this was one reason. 110 degrees just isn't going to melt off stuck on grime. B 125 degrees. Note that, because of this low steam temperature the manual said that if I wanted to sanitize the floor or pick up caked on spills, I had to hold the steamer on the spot for 15 seconds but no more than 20 because that could damage some floors. Now I don't know about you, but if I can sanitize with one swipe of the other steamers because of their sanitizing temps my floor will be done WAY faster but I don't have a timer to worry about the extra 5 secons where my wood floors could get damaged. My sink water is hotter than this so it would take less time to use a regular mop if I have to hold the steamer on every spot of my floor for 15 seconds to santize. Just sayin BUILD: We found how it was made corresponded with issues with the steamer. The Shark, for example, was quite flimsy and they actually sell replacement handle kits because so many people have issues with the handle breaking! We know this because my neighbor's shark broke and the store had a replacement handle kit on the shelf because he said

I would have paid for faster options if I knew I had to wait a week! However, once it got to me... WOW. So many attachments... it is like a cleaning person's toy store. I first noticed the steamer makes no noise. I don't know why, but I expected noise. I ran a trial on my kitchen floor... eeewww! I used one pad up and then got another to go over my first cleaning. I have a 130# dog and 2 cats and this steamer rocks! I threw the pads in the washing machine and they cleaned up easy. It is a great feeling to know the floors are really getting clean. The hand held steamer has cute attachments to play with. I have not tried the carpet freshener or steamed a mattress yet, but those things are on my list. One thing tho... don't bother with those scents you can buy. They are just oil you put on the pad. I got the orange and the freesia. I won't buy them again. 4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Haan's steam cleaner By moe This is the perfect appliance for women who love to clean. I purchased this to replace my older Delonghi Steam Clean Plus and here and overall found the unit produced consistent steam but lacking in pressure somewhat compared to my older model. I actually purchased the steam cleaner from a warehouse club and it had a very nice selection of accessories including an extension rod hanger that allows you to steam garments on a hanger extending from the top of the extension rod. Basically the steamer is the same as this model 275 in terms of boiler, wattage, basic design. The unit did warm up fairly quickly and I was impressed with the quality of the accessories, using thick plastic, good quality rubber seals etc. This model I think would work well as doing primary duty as a clothes steamer but its lack of pressure make it not the best choice for blasting nooks and crannies, where a really good steamer excels as a cleaning maching no other device can touch. Let me explain. I compared this steamer with the Saeco Piccolo steamer and with a high quality thermometer recorded the Saeco at about 190 degrees and the steamFast at about 170-180 degrees. Secondly I put a paper cup on the floor and with both machines heated up with a full tank of water, I pointed the nozzle at the opening of the cup to see which model would blow the cup the farthest. The SteamFast product blew the cup about five feet. The Piccolo blew the cup 15 feet and probably would have kept going if it was not for the wall stopping it. Not even remotely close. Next I took both steamers out on my deck and pointed the nozzles at a hose that "overwintered" on my deck....complete with black moldy stains hiding the normally greeen hose. The SteamFast product blew steam at the hose but it did not really eliminate the moldy stains. Next tried the Piccolo...WOW....this sucker blasted those stains down to fresh green hose. Test over. Note: I also tried the same test with a Euro-Pro Shark Steam Blaster Ultra with similar results to the Chinese made SteamFast product. I will add some more details in my review of the Saeco Piccolo. Needless to say, I returned the SteamMax. Let me say, I think the overall positive results for this product are not surprising to me considering most users have not probably used an Italian made steam cleaner which seem to have hotter steam vapor, far more pressure, a longer track record of using similar technology in espresso machine manufacturing, etc. The downside of the Italian products is that it might be a bit harder to find parts and service for since they are not produced for the mass market like the steamFast and shark products. It's too bad as I really wanted the SteamFast or Shark to perform better. Honestly if you don't make the comparison between the Piccolo or similar italian made steamer and the SteamFast, you may think you are getting a great product as it will produce consistent steam...but you won't be aware of HOW MUCH MORE YOU COULD DO with the serious pressure levels of the Italian steam cleaners. I hope some other people do some comparisons. It was kind of fun to be my own consumer reports for the last few weeks, but I am a huge fan of these cleaners and their many uses. Most Americans have not caught on to what the Europeans have known for years. 113 of 118 people found the following review helpful. Good for tough stains By H. Choi I hesitated to purchase a steam cleaner so I read many reviews including McCulloch MC-1275 steam cleaner reviews. I decided to purchase MC-1275 and then I found SF-275. Both have very similar looks and spec. I think both models are the same one. Anyway, SF-275 was $30 cheaper than MC-1275 so I purchased this one. I use this for cleaning my shower room. It works! but don't expect magic. It takes time to clean old stains. Steamer is really good on narrow areas (between tiles). It is

I have two pets that have messy shredded aspen bedding and pet hair that gets outside of the cage a lot. It tends to clog vacuums. This product picks it up well with no clogging. It picks up other small messes also. It takes a little effort though, sweeping back and forth. Still think its worth not ruining the vacuum. 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful. Bissell Sweep up By Nichole This is a great alternative for anyone who cannot really afford to buy a vaccuum and all the bags, filters, belts, cleaning tools, and other things needed to use a vaccum cleaner. I started using Bissell sweepers in college. They last a good while. I even use the spray foam cleaners in the can and after the foam dries I use the sweeper it works well. Its great for quick clean ups and it is also good for a good thorough cleaning. Its good on bare floors but I think it works best on all types of carpets. They have a new version that is more expensive and its shaped different. Its more square. The handle keeps coming off and to keep the it in place I had to have a friend glue it with cement glue. It works well but for a bigger price I would expect it to be put together at least as good as the bissell sweeper but it is not. I won't say that it is not a good sweeper it is, but I prefer the Bissell sweep up. I love Bissell products I have several of their sweepers, vaccuums, carpet steamers, and ulpholstery cleaners. I love their products because they are light weight and work well. 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful. Sweeper is Handy By Mary Curtis This sweeper makes for quick and easy clean up. I have a very furry pet and it is such a hassle to pull out the big vacuum several times a day; so this light weight sweeper comes in very handy for me because it picks up the clumps of dog fur quickly. It also quickly picks up pieces of dog food, etc., left on the kichen floor. The other thing I like is that the sweeper comes with a brush comb to easily keep the bottom brushes clean. This sweeper is a good product and is a low price. See all 29 customer reviews...

No amount of mopping, scrubbing or chemicals have been able to get it completely removed. To this day I still have no idea where this stubborn stain had come from. After receiving this product I thought, "If this can get that stupid stain out, I'll give it a 5 star review." So to work I went. At first I used the extender attachment on the floor (along with the cleaner that came with the product), set it to high clean, blasted it for several minutes, wiped it with a rag and the stain didn't budge. I was about to call it quits but for the sake of the review I thought, "What the heck... I'll give the small plastic brush attachment a shot" but had little expectation after that. The plastic (not metal) brush in conjunction with the steam removed the stain with just a little elbow grease. I was floored (hehe)! I no longer have to hide the stain with an awkwardly placed appliance. Also shocking, my vinyl floor has a ton of grooves and pits by design and all of the darker ridges I thought were part of the design was actually dirt that had gotten deep into the vinyl! When I stopped cleaning my stain area I realized how gross the rest of the floor was by comparison. I mop and sweep regularly!!! After that I started seeking out things in the house that needed a good scrubbing. First up was the refrigerator door handle. I have a white fridge with a plastic textured handle that has turned gray from grubby kid hands. It only took seconds for the grossness to melt away as opposed to the other times I have cleaned it and scrubbed for several minutes. I was starting to wish I had kept the old nasty shower door from the bathroom before the remodel. I am super curious to hear how this performs on showers from others' experiences. The only reason we didn't put a shower door in the bathroom post-remodel is because it was ridiculous to keep clean. So why four-stars after my promise of a five-star review if Hoover could remove my stain? Well.... I used it on a HOT day and was wearing shorts and was barefoot... yeah... I know... but between the heat and the steam I wasn't putting on long pants to test a product that I didn't believe would actually work. I also moved my precious works of art from the fridge to the nearby kitchen table. I removed one star for the amount of sputtering which hit my legs/feet and ended up on my Picassos. I did NOT receive burns and there was no major damage to my child's artwork, however, I think there should definitely be less sputtering and the Hoover should be able to maintain a steady flow of steam instead of steam/spray/sputter/steam. I would recommend pants or other protective clothing in case your skin is more sensitive then mine and be sure to move items away from the surrounding area where you will be working. Also, all the sputtering just makes water pool up on the floor unnecessarily, wastes the water/cleaning solution, and makes the steamer less effective. I have posted my before and after stain photos under "Product Images" if anyone is interested. I highly recommended this product to save time and energy getting out those tough stains/messes that seem to melt away with this product. 10 of 11 people found the following review helpful. A new take on household steam cleaners By Lexington Knitter The "sell" for household handheld or canister steam cleaners has long been the argument that you can throw away caustic or potentially dangerous chemicals and still get your surfaces clean and germ free. It's a "green" argument as well - less products washing down the drains and into the sewers and water tables being a Good Thing. Hoover has definitely retooled that argument with this new handheld cleaner - it uses an optional disinfecting solution, a proprietary formulation sold by Hoover, as a 2nd line of defense against

Free shipping was the buying factor that pushed me to buy it. I hate getting into toilets and this made it easy for cleaning. Cleans up the floor around the toilet extra clean as well. I sprayed the toilet seat over and under and around and cleaned it better then new. The rim inside and outside is so easy with the spray nozzle and it does it so fast with hot steam that you can smell and see the clean after just a few seconds. I will never do without one of these again. This is my first and I was just being cheap by not buying one sooner. I don't know about the rest of the name brands but this one stands up very well so far. Hope this helps out cause I am now becoming a steam nut for cleaning. When you need something clean, steam is the only way to clean quickly and without chemicals. 17 of 17 people found the following review helpful. exceded my expectations By Elizabeth J. Hanna After seeing an steam cleaing infomercial, I decided to try one this model to get rid of the dark line at the baseboard edge of my white carpets. It worked great. I then went on to trying it in our bathrooms, etc. I am now a steam cleaning nut. I do mirrors, windows, the entire bathrooms, floors, etc. My husband said he is afraid to go to sleep at night that I will steam clean him. The unit works very nicely. It is a nice weight but sturdy. It has gotten quite a bit of use. I have had a problem with the trigger not depressing off and am in the process of contacting the company. But I am very excited about my new way of cleaning. Mikitanova researched for weeks online and in stores for a steam mop, as most of my house is wood or tile. I could not be happier with my purchase. Here are the reasons why i finally chose the Euroflex Monster: 1) It was actually designed to be used on hardwood floors - this was important to me b/c I didn't want to ruin the floors in our house 2) It has 2 different steam levels, which makes it safer and more effective at cleaning tile and hardwood. i could not find any other steam mop w/ 2 different steam levels. 3) it has a good sized water chamber. i can mop the whole house on one filling if i don't press the trigger too much to get extra steam to come out the front. 4) steam jets on the bottom AND front. i don't remember seeing this in any other brand. 5) it heats up hotter than most steam mops - to 240 degrees F. Other steam mops don't get as hot so to actually sanitize you are supposed to hold the mop in one spot for 15 seconds, which would make mopping a house an all day event. 6) it also has an attachment for steam cleaning carpets - i have not tried this yet, but liked the feature. 7) the bonus pads where a great bonus. It has been great at cleaning well and quickly. It really does wipe away grime... even grime that's been there for a while. The pads are machine washable and come out clean every time. Be sure to use distilled water so that you don't get any build up in the chamber (that goes for all steam mops). My only complaint is that if you do have to refill the water chamber mid-cleaning session, you have to wait to 5 mins unscrew the cap (b/c of steam escaping when you unscrew the cap)and then another 5 mins for the mop to heat up after you put more water in the chamber 22 of 22 people found the following review helpful. Great Product! By Jeffrey G. Ritchey This was a great purchase for me. I have a carpet steamer and wanted a hardwood/tile floor steamer. This steamer does the job! My only complaint is that it cannot clean my grout. The people who lived in my house before me had put in white grout. It is such a pain to constantly bleach it. Unfortunately, I am going to have to rip out all the white grout and put in a darker color because with three children and 3 pets, the grout does not stay clean and I do not like getting down on my hands and knees everyday to bleach the mess out. FYI, when the cleaning pad gets dirty it starts to spread the dirt around. I was cleaning my hardwood floors and went to start the kitchen and to my surprise it left brown washable streak across my floor and grout. Definitely a good product though! 18 of 19 people found the following review helpful. Awesome product By Tiffany I also did tons of research on this steam mop and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The only thing I will point out is that it is a bit on the heavy side, so if you are a frail person this may not be the right mop for you. It does do an awesome job on the floors and the 4 steam levels make it great for my laminate and the tile. The more steam that you use though the more wet the floors get so start on the lowest level of steam for a floor that dries in seconds. Very easy to use and I feel like it is a well made and sturdy product that is going to last me a long time. See all 38 customer reviews...

Katsarelis I just purchased a previously owned townhome and needed to really clean the entire kitchen. I used an industrial grease remover and was unable to remove all the grime (YUK!!!). I had seen this product advertised and was skeptical; however, I was pleasantly surprised. The SteamFast SF-226 Handheld Steam Cleaner did an exceptional job. Following the use of the steamer, I was able to wipe down all surfaces in the kitchen. It worked great on the grout, stove-top, kitchen tile, floor tile, refrigerator, and woodwork. I highly recommend this little work horse! 53 of 55 people found the following review helpful. Not bad... does what it could. By Chas Devlin Not much to say... it's a low end, handheld steam cleaner -- meaning it can't compete in any way with professional models at twice the price. For the most past, it gets the job done. Set up took all of 5 minutes -- fill with water, attach a nozzle, wait for the light to signal it's ready, and steam away! Most people will probably use the main nozzle (as pictured) and attack the usual areas -- bathroom, kitchen, and every other nook + cranny you can think of. It did a good job on all those areas. It's light enough to carry around for a while, and the long power cord allowed for good flexibility. It removed most of the burnt-on grease inside the oven (though it took a few cycles). As to be expected with a basic model, it doesn't take long to lose its' steam power, and it needs refilling rather quickly (so don't pump for steam if you don't need to). Also, depending on the angle being applied, it leaked more water than steam action to some surfaces. Additionally, I wish the main nozzle was longer, as I found myself unable to reach certain areas. To sum up, it's fine for most basic household uses - but don't expect maximum power from a model like this. I found myself wanting to upgrade. 25 of 25 people found the following review helpful. A Great Product, A Great Price By J. Krider This is a great product at a great price. This is my second one, because they don't last forever. But four years for one of these isn't a bad life-time, considering the price. There are some things it DOESN'T do - like soap scum on the shower door. But I use it for cleaning the grill, the oven and the stove-top. The steam really does melt the grease like in the infomercial. While it doesn't really work on soap scum, it does a great job on mirrors. Next time I'll spend the extra money and get the one with the extension hose, because without it you can't get to the bottom of the mirror (the squeege attaches right to the tank, which gets in the way). About the time I run out of steam, my arm is tired and the break to let the unit cool so I can refill it works out nicely for me. With common sense (don't force parts together, empty the tank before storing, etc.), the unit should last. The one thing I would change would be to add the ability to purchase nozzles and brushes seperatly. Those are the things that get lost/wear out, etc. See all 54 customer reviews...

Day I admit it I finally bought something because I saw it on an infomercial and all I can say is that I am very impressed!! I have 2 dogs, a husband that works in the oilfield, me the messy cook, and I live in sandy red dirt west Texas. This thing can really handle it all. I also like how the mop pad also goes over my 1/4 round on the baseboards and gets them too.In addition I love that I don't have to immediatly leave the area after I have mopped because the fumes from the chemicals are so strong... as my experience was when I tried the swiffer wetjet. I had debated as to whether to get this with the Bissell CatchAll or to get the Hoover Floormate and so far I am very happy with th choice I have made. One hint I found out when using this product that is not mentioned in the instructions is that it works best when you pull it backwards instead of forwards.( like I do when using my hoover steamvac widepath) I noticed when I was pushing forwards all the steam seamed to be coming out the back of the mop head and when I pulled it backwards all the steam went apparantly on the floor because I barely saw it coming out but I could certainly see the difference. After using this product I really can say that my floor is clean. not only does it look clean , but I know that the steam is killing bacteria and I can believe it or not , breathe better. I dont know if this is because it is like being around a vaporizer or because it is killing bacteria and dustmites but it does.WHen all of these new and improved moppping gadgets hit the market I had been hopfull because hey, I admit I hate mopping. After mopping while the floor was still wet it never failed that either my dogs or my husband when just walk on it and get it dirty again. So I tried the swiffer wetjet and was not impressed because of the strong smell of the cleaner, having to buy cleaner and pads all the time, did not get ground in stuff very well, and Knowing that I was only degreasing and not disinfecting the floor. This steam mop is cost effeciant because I don't have to keep buying cleaner or pads. It is reccomened to use distilled water to maximize the use of the water filter but 1$ /gallon compared to $3/liter isn't bad and I may end up getting one of those pur things to not have to do even that. I honestly recommend this product and hope that this may help someone considering buying it! 197 of 198 people found the following review helpful. for people who hate mopping By busytwinmom I love a clean floor, but I hate mopping so much that I put it off and put it off. Kitchen floors in a busy household should be mopped AT LEAST once a week, but wringing a heavy wet mop and dealing with all that dirty water - yuck. So when I saw this, I thought that if it lived up to its billing, it would be the answer to my prayers. (By the way - the swiffer doesn't get the floor clean at all to my satisfaction, costs too much and leaves unwanted chemicals smeared around)After trying this I can say that yes, it really does get the floor clean - not as clean as if I had scrubbed on my hands and knees but much cleaner than a quickie mop job. And no wringing, no rinsing, no dirty bucket of water. Just one pass and I'm done. It works on both linoleum and ceramic tile/grout and fits around the back of the toilet.I am also pleased with the slim profile which makes it easy to store.A few tips: to get the floor clean you have to go SLOW. REALLY SLOW. But one pass done this way over each area is enough. Also, it won't take black shoe scuffs up. And as you go the mop cover gets saturated, leaving the last area mopped pretty wet. And to extend the life of the filter, the instructions say you should use distilled water - an additional expense. But the upshot is that I cheerfully mop my kitchen and bathrooms twice a week now. I have been for months. Its amazing. This machine has solved one of

By mom2boyz I purchased the Euro-Pro Shark XL3501 Floor Kit from NewEgg to use with the Steam Pocket Mop. I thought with the EXTRA LARGE mop head that I would be able to clean MORE space FASTER, but after using it a few times I'm not convinced. To me, the XL mop HEAD seemed just a little too big for the mop. (It is about 1.5x bigger than the standard/regular size rectangle mop that comes with the mop.) The mop was more difficult to push and manuever with the XL head (which is why I probably didn't clean any faster). In addition, the actual cleaning surface of the mop bottom seemed to be primarily in the very center of the XL mop head (as evidenced by the dirt pattern on the bottom of the pad). This is a "nice to have" accessory, but not a necessary one. I personally prefer the standard/regular size rectangle mop head since it moves easier across the floor (which is why I subtracted 1 star from the XL mop head's rating). A better investment would probably be additional pads for the regular rectangle mop head. 13 of 13 people found the following review helpful. xl floor kit By matilda I bought the shark pocket steam mop in January 2010. I also bought the xl kit which I use most of the time. After 6 months of regular use 1 time a week , the connection from the unit to the mop head frayed and the mop head had to be replaced. This should not happen in such a short period of time. The mop itself is a great product and really does the job of cleaning the floors. Hopefully, this new mop head will last longer. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Good quality product By naeary I have used the Shark steam pocket mop since December 2009. I like that it does not leave streaks or push the dirt around. It is easy and fast to use. The xl head is a better size then the small one that it comes with to allow more cleaning. I have found that rinsing the pocket off in the sink prior to washing helps remove the dirt and build up. See all 11 customer reviews...

I bought it to steam sanitize my carpeting, and was pleased with the outcome. I first cleaned my carpet, let it dry and used the steamer afterwards. I also used it on my sofa. The sanitizer must be kept level or a small amount of water will leak from the sides, but it dried rather quickly so I did not see it as a problem. For the price, it did what I expected it to do. Since I used it on carpet I do not know how it works on wood flooring. I have three dogs and several cats, and was pleased at how clean my sofa and carpet looked afterwards. I did not clean the sofa first, just ran the steamer over it, and it pilled cat hairs for easy removal that I thought I had manually removed, which was great, because it left my sofa looking clean and bright. If you want to kill germs and sanitize your carpet or floor, then this product may work for you as well. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. I wouldn't say its perfect, but still pretty great By Larissa L. Smith This has done a great job on my floors. I finally feel like they are really clean. There is no overpowering perfume permeating my house after mopping the floors, I don't slip and fall like I have after using some other products, there are no chemicals on my floor to worry about when my two year old is rolling around on the floor. My promlems with the FS-30 are pretty minor. If it were 1/4 of an inche shorter, it would fit perfectly under the overhang of my cabinets, but its something I can live with. The other problem is with the ready indicator. Its just a heat sensitive patch that changes color to indicate the water is hot, but if you have to refill in the middle of cleaning, that patch is no use, instead you have to watch for the steam coming out to know that your water is ready. Again not a big deal, as its pretty obvious that the water is ready. A couple things I am very impressed with, the combination of the steam with the scrubby microfiber pads has managed to get up marks off my floor that I have previously had to use a "Magic Eraser" to get up, which is awesome, because the eraser would also take off the floor wax, and the Haan only removes the marks left by my furniture. Also the Haan was able to get up the remnants of a sticker placed on my floor in a matter of seconds, rather than having to scrape it off with a blade, and ruinning the floors. I'm pretty happy with the results I've had so far, but if they made a few changes to the product it would be even better. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Amazing product! By S. We bought this model at a local retail store last weekend. I had used a different model of the same brand previously (borrowed from in-laws). I have used it once, on my entire living room--a cream colored cheap wall-to-wall carpet laid down about 3 years ago by the previous owners. Probably artificial fibers. Just saying. The carpet was getting spotty. We have a cat who has hairballs regularly and two four-year-olds. The cream colored carpet was showing spots around the kids computer, both couches, and the high-traffic areas at each doorway. We had some washable-marker marks here and there, and one sticky place. We live in the south so we had red clay marks, too. I assembled the machine--had to get a long, thin screwdriver from the garage because the kind with the changeable tips is too fat for the holes in the upper handle. Assembly was easy, but I was left with an extra wand that had no home. Ours came with a small, medium, and large unpowered wand plus a powered wand and a crevice tool. At this point I was thinking that all the unpowered wands were kind of redundant. I filled the machine with hot water and the 'fiber cleansing' solution my husband picked up because he didn't realize there were two bottles of solution inside the box. Not a big deal, we'll use it all, I'm sure. The soap tank was a bit leaky for just a second, so I let it drip til it stopped, then rinsed off the outside. I grabbed the blue squirt bottle of 'tough stain precleaner' that came in the box and squirted each little gray, brown, or sticky spot. Didn't do anything else, just squirted. Gave the gray area near the doors a sort of 'misting' to get the job started. I turned the dial on the Bissell to 'normal cleaning' and started near one door. Wet stroke forward, wet stroke backward, dry stroke forward, dry stroke backward. Had a little trouble with the suction at first, but I later determined this was probably because the machine had tipped while it was on. It makes a pop noise when it loses suction, and you pretty much have to shut the machine off and turn it back on to 'reset'. A few places in the carpet needed an extra going over with the wet/dry strokes to get the spots up. After just a couple of strokes, the machine started spitting out little 'hairballs' that were gray--presumably cat hair and carpet fiber wads. I had read about these in the manual and so was not alarmed. I decided to let them go and after the carpet dried I'd get them with the dry vac. About half-way through the room (13x18, roughly) it was time to dump the dirty water and refill. The water was like diluted hot chocolate in color, and had hairballs in it. Removing and replacing the tank is quite easy. Originally I was thinking I had to lay down the handle to get at the connections, but this is not true--the machine can be standing up and you can still get the water tank out. Not sure about the soap tank, though. Note that while cleaning, you're dripping on the back stroke. So you start at one end of the room and work *backwards* to the other end, not forwards. Probably a no-brainer, but there you go. I tried using one of the unpowered wands for a spot under the kids desk, and it did OK but didn't really wow me. It was nice to have the trigger right there on the wand to be able to squirt soap at the spot, and the wand did fine at pulling the water back out. Didn't try the powered wand for it--I just went over it again with the big machine and the spot was completely gone. I'll try the powered wand another time. Back in action, I finished up the room with no other highlights. I chose not to use the 'rinse' cycle on the machine at all, I guess I'm testing the anti-resoiling agent in the soap. :) I didn't really want to spend the time going over every inch of carpet twice. When finished, I put down a couple of clean towels to walk on

I bought it about 6 years ago and after attempting to clean the rugs last month I realized it was no longer picking up the water. Opened it up and saw that the internal suction hose had split in half. That was it .. time to find another cleaner. I have had good luck with Hoovers but did a TON of research before settling on this machine. I have a dog and a toddler and both do a number on my rugs. Juice, food, crayons, spit up, urine and everything else under the sun has ended up on my carpet in the past 2 years. I did not take care of my previous Hoover so it wasn't the best in its later life. I just brought the new one home and oh my god, the water was black. I did not think anything could bring my carpets back but this did. They are so soft and clean. I love this machine because it has a rinse button if you want to make sure you have gotten all the soap out. I use really warm water and the machine directs hot air onto the carpet as you make your passes. The carpet dried super fast and just looks fantastic. I had to fill and empty the containers 4 times for my combination living / dining room but hey, I'm not complaining now that I see the results. I also like this machine because you do not mix the detergent in with the water. This is great because if you have detergent left over you just pour it back into the bottle. Based on my previous experience, here is what I learned and can pass on to future Hoover SteamVac owners: 1. Clean your machine after each use. That means taking apart the brushes and washing out the front nozzle. This is an investment and if you want it to continue working like it did the first day, you need to take care of it. 2. Do not leave left over or dirty water in the tank when you put it away. This will wear away at the joints and increases the chances the leaks. 3. Do not leave left over detergent in the tank .. see #2. 4. Read the directions when you put it together and make sure you read how to use this rather than just take it out and turn it on. I never read the first manual and didn't realize I should have been cleaning and using the spray button a totally different way. This is a great machine and I hope it will last just as if not longer now that I know how to take care of and use it properly. 126 of 126 people found the following review helpful. Best carpet cleaner I've ever used By cat person I just got this carpet cleaner from Amazon.com and I am so happy with it. It outcleans everything I've ever used before, including professional cleaning companies. I owned a Kirby years ago and it can't hold a candle to this Hoover cleaner. I found it was much easier to use than the rug doctor, which I've rented many times, and since I own it, I don't have to haul it back to the store and I have all the time I want to clean my carpets. It was very easy to use, and I particularly like the clean water rinse feature. It gets all the detergent residue out, and my carpet was soft and lofty after cleaning. Just think, you wouldn't wear your clothes washed and not rinsed. The power is awesome, my carpet was practically dry when I finished. I got back very close to the amount of water that was dispensed. My carpet was dry enough to walk on in an hour and vacuum in 2 hours. This machine is so well made that I look forward to having soft clean carpet for years to come. It has the quality that I expected from a Hoover. I researched all brands of cleaners dilligently on the net and even looked at some brands, including Bissell, in a store before I decided on this particular Hoover machine. I've never been so happy while cleaning my carpets before. I had it out of the box and ready to go in minutes. It's as easy to use as a vacuum cleaner, plus, Amazon's sale price was cheaper than any price for the same machine that I found. I am a happy camper with
