Hammons I bought this Lightweight Carpet Cleaner with the hope of cleaning room by room of my home over time so that I wouldn't have to pay Professional Carpet Cleaners to come in once a year to clean my carpets. We recently added an "indoor" puppy to our family too, so our carpets were really taking a beating. Both my husband and I are thoroughly impressed with the Bissell 2080. We knew buying a Bissell was a good decision, but we were a little skeptical that we might should have bought a more heavy duty cleaner, but every penny counts in our household. Using the 2080 to clean a room at a time per weekend is working GREAT! We did find that the sprayer didn't meet our needs (puppy spots) - but we took the Bissell cleaning fluid, put it in a spray bottle, then sprayed everything! By the time we were finished spraying, we were ready to use the Powerbrush to run over the stains, scrub the solution and vacuum it up! The carpet looks like new -- which is an accomplishment because we're a family of 5 and that doesn't include our 2 mature dogs and our puppy! I would definitely recommend this cleaner to anyone that needs to watch their budget but also wants a really good cleaning job! Oh, one last thing, I read this in reviews before I purchased the 2080 and it is SO true -- when you are vacuuming the cleaner out of the rug, GO SLOW!! If you go slow, you'll vacuum up the maximum amount of liquid and your carpet will dry super quick! Good luck! 101 of 102 people found the following review helpful. Light weight and not especially powerful.. By N. Brabec but,for the price, it rated 4 stars for me. So far, no leaking issues and the brush bar does rotate, as long as the front piece that holds the sucked up dirty liquid is replaced properly. If it is not, it leaks like a sieve and there is next to no suction. Regarding the time it takes for the carpet to dry, it really is not bad, if you just move slowly and give the machine a chance to suck up the liquid. If you move fast, much is left behind and it takes extra long to dry. Expect dissapointment if you want to get your whole house done in a day. The brush head is small and the machine is not very powerful, so for the cleaning to be effective you will need to take your time and make sure you get everything up. This machine is best for those without big stain problems and is best suited for those that clean their carpets with some regularity. If your carpet is trashed and really dirty, you need something bigger and more powerful (or professionals). 142 of 149 people found the following review helpful. Quick Usage for Light Maintenance vs. Other Options By L Very easy to use carpet cleaner for regular light maintenance. However, I was looking for a carpet cleaner to get out some traffic and light stain spots - some deep cleaning with a powerbrush - and this didn't do the trick. The "powerbrush" on this is a misnomer, as the brush rolls back + forth by.....you! no motor on it. not enough bristles on it to call it a brush. also misleading is "steamer" and "deep cleaner". The definite positives were that it's extremely easy and even fun to use, seems very well-designed, and it's terrific for light maintenance. 5 stars for all of that. Wish Bissell had advertised it as that so I wouldn't be stuck having to return it. **updated** Other, better options, which bring my rating from 3 down to 1 or 2: I bought from amazon the McCulloch Steam Cleaner (mc1275, $100) and it ROCKS. zapped spots out with steam. obviously also great for hard floors and furniture, bathrooms, etc. carpets dried within 2 hours - this from a steamer without any suction. Also sold here is the Hoover SteamVac JR which seems to have great suction. See all 202 customer reviews...

I have tile that is less than one year old and the grout only looked a little cleaner after 3 uses. It leaves a film of water on the surface that takes at least 15 minutes to dry and some spots have to be wiped up by hand. Would I buy this again, no. Jean 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Poor Product By J. Casey The Steam Mop left my floor very wet and did not put out that much steam. My regular hand mop did a better job. Returning product. 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Complete let-down By S I bought this steam mop for my wife because she was dying to try one out, with a baby tearing up the kitchen and all. However, this specific mop didn't even come close to where it needed to be in order to get the job done. The main problem here is that steam mop technology just isn't quite there yet. The steam alone isn't enough to get a lot of stains up, but since you can't use any type of chemicals in conjunction with this mop, it does very little to get the floor clean. Even worse, the process of steaming leaves a fine silt-like film all over the area after you're done. You pretty much have to break out the old mop and bucket just to clean up the mess that this "new and improved" mop made. I believe someone was good to try to apply steam cleaning to a handheld mop, but the process of just squirting the steam out of the bottom with nothing more than a cloth cover to clean the floor isn't really a good idea. Match that up with the $90 price tag, at least when I purchased it, and it makes this mop pretty pathetic as far as value is concerned. Overall, please save your money. You'd be better to buy a large steam vacuum for a little more that will at least have rotating brushes or some other gizmo that actually breaks down stains and stuff on the floor, instead of just relying on steam alone. I think this is pretty common with all of the steam mops out there, so again...please save your money. See all 9 customer reviews...

It is heaver than I thought it would be, but it doesn't let the dust bunnies fly around as much as my regular broom. The vacuum part of this broom is wonderful; I don't have to go looking for the dust pan. It has helped with getting the kids to do some of the sweeping. The only thing I don't like about this item is the dirt holding compartment is small and must be emptied a lot. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Total waste By Kili Great idea, lousy reality. Suction is lousy and you have to angle it so very specifically to get even that, that it's basically a broom and useless as anything more. Bissell SpotBot Pet Hands-Free Compact Deep Cleaner, Blue Illusion, 1200A

BISSELL SpotBot Pet Handsfree Compact Deep Cleaner-1200A. Revolutionary spot cleaner give you the freedom to WalkAway¿ while it does the work for you. Handsfree Cleaning, set SpotBot® Pet on the spot or stain, hit start and WalkWay¿-SpotBot Pet does the work for you. Manual Spot cleaning and unique spiral brushing removes pet stains and odors for good.

Amazon Sales Rank: #98962 in Home Color: Blue Brand: Bissell Model: 1200A Dimensions: 14.00" h x 20.00" w x 9.50" l, 16.25 pounds Compact deep-cleaning machine for hands-free removal of stains from carpet and upholstery Automatic Smart System removes the guesswork from cleaning; spiral brushing action scrubs away spots and spills Two cleaning cycles for either surface or set-in stains Includes onboard tools for manually cleaning stairs, upholstery, and car interiors Measures 9-1/2 by 20 by 14 inches; 1-year limited warranty

Amazon.com Review The Bissell SpotBot Pet might actually be a dog or cat owner's best friend. Puppy training "accidents," spit-up hairballs, the occasional half-eaten chicken carcass: with pets in the house, cleaning challenges come with the territory. Some of the worst mishaps happen when there's no one around, creating set-in stains that resist the most stubborn scrubbing with a sponge or rag. This pet-friendly compact deep cleaner does all its work hands free, meaning users can fold laundry, wash dishes, even walk the carcass-scatterer while the mess gets cleaned up. To use, clear away excess debris and place the cleaner over the spot. Once engaged, the SpotBot Pet's unique Automatic Smart System measures just the right amount of cleaner and water and sprays it onto the cleaning area. Next, the machine's spiral brushing action scrubs away spots and odors, while its heavy-duty suction draws up both water and stains. Users can choose one of one of two pre-programmed settings, a three-minute cycle for fresh or surface dirt or longer for set-in stains. A beep announces when the cycle is finished, and the pause/resume function puts the cleaning process on hold if need be. The SpotBot Pet can also be used in manual mode on upholstery, stairs, or car interiors, using a vacuum flex hose and three-inch Tough Stain Brush. Also included are 8 ounces of Bissell's specially formulated pet odor and spot remover, as well as a 16-ounce bottle of Oxy Gen2, a multi-purpose oxygen booster for tough stains like red wine, coffee, and fruit juice. Equipped with a 32-ounce cleaning tank and 16-inch power cord, the SpotBot Pet measures a compact 9-1/2 by 20 by 14 inches and is covered by a one-year limited warranty. --Mary Park

By Jonathan Appleseed The other night my dog got into the cat's litter box (I use Fresh Step crystals - those crystals don't sit well in a dogs stomach) and she must have had a real fancy feast. I awoke to her vomiting all over my freshly dry cleaned comforter, and when I got up saw piles of diarrhea and more vomit in two bedrooms and two bathrooms. I'm thinking to myself, "This girl planned this," because just three days ago I had my carpeting professionally cleaned. I didn't have time to do anything more than wipe up as much of the diarrhea and vomit as I could (and to tend to Joon's stomach, of course), as I was running late for an appointment. While I was out, I remembered seeing a commercial for this product, so on the way home, I picked it up. When I had finished collecting any of the refuse that had dried while I was out, I approached this with skepticism. After all, it is a little difficult to believe that all you have to do is set the unit down over the stain, press a button, and then walk away. But that's all you have to do. I was amazed at the simplicity of the design, and how easy it is to disconnect the collection and solution tanks. On the solution tank, Bissell has two sets of markings: one for use with their OxyGen2 product (which I haven't used yet), water, and formula; and another for water and formula alone. Those markings are very clear, and are a welcome design. There are three buttons to press: one for regular surface stains; another for set-in stains, and another to allow for manual use with the hose. When I pressed the surface stain button, I watched for a while as the unit switched between spray, suction, and brush functions. I have to say that watching the product work through the "Hands Free Cleaning Window" was pretty, er, cool. (Yeah, so I'm a dork. ) I walked away for a moment, and then heard the unit beep, indicating that it was done. I'm hearing impaired, and have a difficult time with high tones. I wasn't expecting to hear this, but I did - as clear as a bell - and I was at the opposite end of the apartment. I approached the unit with skepticism, but when I lifted it off the spot, the stains were gone. I proceeded to set the unit down on all of the spots throughout the apartment, coming back to it every time it beeped. It cleaned every spot. This was by far the most pleasant, and the least physically exhausting experience I've ever had with a so-called steam or deep cleaner - and that "least physically exhausting" part is a big one for me. Still skeptical, though, I thought to myself: Just see when it dries; the stains won't really be gone. This morning, however, every single spot had dried, and there wasn't an issue with the carpet feeling stiff due to soapiness. As an aside, and as a comment to another review: This unit wasn't built or designed to clean an ENTIRE area rug, or, of course, anything larger. That's the purvey of large steam cleaners. It's called "SpotBot" for a reason. And it executes perfectly. EDIT 8/22/07: The same dog got into something else, and left a mess of vomit and diarrhea all over the apartment. Again. (No, I'm not trying to poison my dogs, and this doesn't happen often.) Some of the diarrhea had occurred in the night, and it was stiff and wouldn't rub out using the hand brush. But using the hands-free option got the job done. I feel very badly for my dog, of course, but at the same time am thankful to have had this unit. It made a world of difference. Every pet owner should have one. ALSO, 2 TIPS for those who don't think the hands-free option retrieves enough water during its cycle: 1) After using the hands-free, detach the manual hose and use that suction, or; 2) Empty the solution tank, and run the hands-free option again. No water/formula will eject, so you'll have a couple of minutes of "pure" suction. EDIT

By heyheyheywotisay Though I appreciate the two previous reviewers giving so much detail, I truly believe they exaggerate the difficulties of using this product. Overall, this is a "great" product. You will pay a little more because it is an Oreck, but quality construction, reliability, and the fact Oreck stands behind their products make the extra few dollars worth it. My reason for purchasing a steam cleaner was to clean stone and tile floors, "especially" the grout. Frankly, this unit does such an amazing job with this, if it did nothing else well, I would still be happy. I will no longer have to waste time and money on "very" expensive grout cleaners and sealers that do not work. Trust me, the Oreck get's grout and tile as clean as the day you had them installed. I have used it on shower glass, the marble in the shower, and a stovetop with great success. My hardwood floors look great, and like my stone and tile, I will never have to buy expensive floor cleaners again. The two micro-fiber cloths provided could definitely be larger, not sure what Oreck was thinking there. However, the cleaner is designed to use any micro-fiber cloth, so you can replace them anytime you like without having to buy them from Oreck. The clip system with the smaller cloths can be a bit of a challenge, but not so bad once you get the hang of it. Again, you can buy larger cloths at the local Walmart if they bother you that much. When fully filled with water, the unit can be heavy for some if trying to do a job above the head, or at the shoulders, (yes you can put it above your head without it leaking). However, the easy solution is don't fill it all the way when doing these type of jobs. PROS: Great construction. Large tank, and comes to steam quick. No expensive cleaners. No chemicals. Cleans tile and grout making it look like new. Hardwood floors shine! CONS: Supplied cloths small, and don't work "great" with clips. 166 of 173 people found the following review helpful. Not Ready For Prime Time By TechDiva Let me start by saying that I am a huge Oreck fan. I think that they make quality products that do what they say they do. However, I can't say that this product measures up. They are on the right track but have several details to work out yet. I already own a Shark steam mop but find the handle to be a little short (I am tall) and it doesn't hold enough water to do my whole kitchen area with one fill. I was quite excited to hear that Oreck had a steam mop. I went to the Oreck store and got a demo. I commented then that the 'pad' was loose and coming off while he mopped, and that the head of the mop was being uncooperative during the carpet refresh demo. He made excuses for all so I bought the steam mop. The mop holds about a gallon of water, and has a very tall handle and a long cord. All good things. The quality and construction are excellent. However, the first thing you notice is that it weighs more than your vaccuum. The pad is actually a piece of cotton duck fabric about a foot square with a strip of terry cloth like fabric down the center. Picture a baby diaper from 20 years ago. You lay that on the floor and use those yellow tabs in the picture to pinch the loose ends of the cloth under the yellow tab. I began to mop and noticed right away that the steam production is fast and strong, good, but the mop is very very hard to push. It is heavy and awkward to move and now I know why the salesman spent so much time showing me the shoulder movement I should use to push the mop back and fowards. The forward motion caused everything I picked up with the mop to be pushed into a line of bits and fuzz on the floor so I tried to turn the mop and capture the fuzzy stuff. Immediately the pad came unclipped. I repositioned the pad and tried again. Again the pad came off. I tried to mop around the bathroom toilet, pulling it longways along the side

Bissell PowerLifter PowerBrush Upright Steam Carpet Cleaner

Powerlifter® Powerbrush Upright Deep Cleaner. The powerful and easy to use full size deep cleaner for carpet and area rugs

Amazon Sales Rank: #6005 in Home Color: Purple Brand: Bissell Model: 1622 Number of items: 1 Dimensions: 44.00" h x 11.00" w x 19.00" l, 12 amp full-size upright carpet cleaner with 4-row rotating DirtLifter PowerBrush Removes deep-down grit and stains using hot tap water and detergent Removable nozzle; lint screen; 2-in-1 water tank for easy filling and emptying Built-in measuring cup; 16-ounce bottle of Fiber Cleansing Formula included Measures 19 by 11 by 44 inches; 1-year limited warranty

Amazon.com Review Dirt is a normal part of a carpet's everyday wear and tear--but that dirt can get ground deep into a rug's fibers every time it's walked on, damaging them permanently. Portable, lightweight, and easy to use, the Bissell PowerLifter PowerBrush Upright Deep Cleaner protects and extends carpet life by removing deep-down grit and stains, using just hot tap water, deep-cleaning detergent, and its four-row rotating DirtLifter PowerBrush. Carpets are left clean, odor-free, even gently groomed for a polished look. The PowerLifter's user-friendly design includes thoughtful touches like a comfortable handle, quick-release cord hooks, a lint screen, and easy-to-maneuver wheels, as well as a built-in measuring cup and a removable nozzle for quick clean up. In addition, the unit's two-in-one water-tank system features a heavy-duty bladder inside for clean water, which empties and mixes with the cleaning formula during operation. The dirty water that gets pulled out of the carpets collects around the outside of the bladder, which means the clean and dirty water never mix. The unit's wide cleaning path covers more ground in less time, while the 20-foot power cord spares users from unplugging and re-plugging when cleaning larger rooms. The PowerLifter is not a steam-cleaning machine, so don't expect the same results that steam can deliver. It is, however, an inexpensive alternative to professional cleaning, without the hassle and expense of carting a rental machine back and forth. The unit comes with a 16-ounce bottle of Fiber Cleansing Formula and a dual-purpose Scotchgard-enhanced detergent that both deep-cleans carpet and protects it from future dirt and stains. The 12 amp full-size upright deep cleaner measures 19 by 11 by 44 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty. --Mary Park

So I ran out to rent a carpet cleaner which we needed immediately due to a monster spill. All the rentals were rented out! + It costs $$ to rent. + And who knows whats left over in those machines. So I made the decision to buy one to have in just such an emergency. Great decision. Why buy an expensive Bissell for over $250 when this 1622 Powerlifter Powerbrush can do everything they can. It's got the brushes it's got the power. The only real difference between those models is that they heat up the water for you. Well can't you just pour hot water into the resevoir? Yes you can. And away we go. I made this wise economic puchase some months ago. This machine has proven itself reliable strong and able time after time. The ultimate weapon for all sorts of messes.. . . . .. And yes it cleans alot better that the store rental units. Oh and by the way we did try that little green machine cleaner. By Ann McCann After three cleanings of two area rugs - I wash them once a month, the nozzles that squirt cleaning solution plugged up. Checking the internet we found that clogged nozzles are a common complaint - and not at all easy to unplug. We called the Bissell company, who put us through some tests (have a screwdriver handy when you call the customer service line!) and recommended we take it to a local repairman. The Bissell- recommended repair person quoted me $89.95 to clean the machine and get it running again. Cleaning and belts are not covered under Bissell's warranty - making the warranty effectively useless. I had had a Bissell with a heater and an upholstery brush that lasted several years. I had hoped that the machine would be more durable without the heater - but I guess not. Now we're in a quandary over what to buy the next time, and I'm depressed over buying a rug cleaner that would only work for three times on two 5x8 area rugs! See all 23 customer reviews...

We had a slight issue at first with it not generating steam, but a call to the customer support number got us straightened out within minutes. Note to buyers: it takes a few minutes (not a few seconds) for water to saturate the filter on the initial use. Customer support recommended taking a squeeze bottle filled with water (we used a dollar store ketchup bottle) and forcing water into the filter. This got us steam within seconds and it's been gangbusters ever since. It cleans just as well as a mop with cleaning solutions in less time (if you figure in the time it takes to fill up bucket, mix chemicals, etc.), with less mess (leaves surfaces slightly damp vs. wet), and less cleanup afterward (no chemicals to dump/rinse - just throw the cloth pad in the laundry). That's another thing - the clamp that holds the cloth pad on allows you to use any kind of cloth, so you're not stuck buying replacement pads; you can use old towels or rags. With 3 cats running around like maniacs, it's great to not have to use cleaning solutions on the floors. Our only lasting complaint is that the rack that holds the accessories doesn't fit snugly onto the body of the machine and falls off if you bump it. Until we can figure out how to wedge it a little more tightly we're just leaving the rack off while in use. I would definitely recommend! 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Cleans Well but Poorly Engineered - Hard To Use By Ovieda Estrada After spending time over several weeks reading reviews on Steam Mops, it's clear that the manufacturers need to do some work. There were so many poor reviews in every product line, it was hard to find any product that didn't have scathing reviews. I found this one on other sites with good reviews so thought I would give it try. If my son had not accidentally thrown the box away, I would have returned it.Pros - It does clean well. The steam is hot. It leaves the floor wet but dries quickly. But what you have to fight to get there is not worth it. Cons: Almost everything - You have to hold the handle down for the steam to come out - I rigged it with a strong rubber band as it tired my hands out. - The cord is just not long enough and there is not a cord clasp to keep it out of your way as you are cleaning. The bottom cord holder is so far down on the handle that when you try to wrap the cord around it, you hit the body of the machine. - The plug is weighted heavily so the slightest movement and out it comes - I tried pushing the prongs apart but that didn't help so now I plug it into a power strip - isn't that fun? - The Accessory kit won't stay on if the machine is at a stand still much less in movement. Really? They couldn't figure out to fasten a plastic carrier on? - Hard to push. I keep looking down to see if the wheels are really moving since pushing this thing is like pushing rubber across carpet. I'm going to try a microfiber cloth and see if that helps. - It runs out of water just cleaning my small kitchen. - When I pull the water tank stopper out, the whole rubber plug comes out. So I have to ever sooooo gently pull it and hold the other part down to keep that from happening. - There are a lot of tools but seriously, I'm not going to use them so it's a waste. I did pull it out to use as a hand held model but I could not see any difference in the cleanliness of the sink so who wants to drag the thing around.I'm using it because I paid for it and I don't want it go to waste -- but I feel foolish getting stuck with this machine. By sparqle A review or two of this machine would have helped me a lot, so I'll leave one hoping it might help someone out there who's trying to decide which carpet cleaner to buy. We moved into our house four months ago. The previous owner had the carpets cleaned for us, but they already looked awful. She was very tidy and clean--no children at home--and we just really aren't. The carpets on the main floor are a very light Berber, so you can probably imagine how they were starting to look with an eight-year-old constantly in and out. And we aren't shoe removers. My only previous experience with a deep cleaner was a 5-year-old Bissell that served my mom faithfully until it finally stopped working when I tried to use it a few days ago. I am convinced the water shooter thingy only quit because it was left filthy by the last person who used it and is probably clogged up with some nasty glob of disgustion. Anyway, I needed my carpets cleaned and I needed it done soon because my in-laws are due for a visit in just over a week. I didn't have time to wait for Amazon to ship me a carpet cleaner, and I didn't want to pay someone half what this cleaner would cost to do it for me. After reading many reviews, I was wavering between the Bissell 9400, the 9500, and the Hoover SteamVac Agility. I probably would have gone with the Agility just for the sake of price and the separate dirty/clean water tanks, but none of the local stores had it, and like I said I needed it now. Finally I wandered into a Linens `n Things and saw the Bissell 9500. It was priced higher than Amazon, but with a 20% off coupon it actually came out a little lower, even after paying sales tax. So I took it home. I had absolutely no problems with assembly. It took all of maybe 5-10 minutes and a Philips screwdriver. My first impression was Wow! Bissell has sure made a lot of improvements since my mom's machine rolled off the line. The water tank is much easier to clean and use. The piece of plastic on the top where the suction takes place on the old Bissell was difficult to clean because it was attached to the main assembly, but the new one has the suction part on top of the water tank, so you can easily run water through it to get the gunk out. I'm a believer that you have to clean these things after using them if you want them to last. I also like that the water tank is made with Microban so I don't have to worry about bacteria building up in a damp machine. I also like that this has a separate tank for the cleaning solution. I believe that with the Hoover Agility you have to mix the solution with the water, which would make it difficult to switch between cleaning and rinsing with water only. Rinsing helps get the extra soap out so you don't feel like you're walking on chemicals. I appreciated being able to choose between `heavy traffic', `normal clean', `light clean', and `water rinse' with the turn of a dial. The `Clean Shot' feature, which I didn't think would be a big deal, actually turned out to be quite useful. Often I would go over a spot, expecting it to disappear, only to find it was still there. So, I would just hit it with a wallop of pure cleaning solution, clean another section for a few seconds, then go back over the spot. It really seemed to help get the peskier ones out. On the old Bissell, the nozzles and hose were constantly falling out when you weren't using them because there was no way to secure them properly. I can't imagine that happening with the 9500; everything is secured with very tough plastic and nothing fell off while I was cleaning. The attachments worked very well, by the way. One of the reasons I wanted this machine was that I wanted to be able to clean stairs myself. The TurboBrush was great. There's a switch that you can adjust between `brush'--an actual revolving brush--and `suction.' All the tools

By mom2boyz Five months ago, I hesitantly purchased (directly from Amazon) the Euro-Pro Shark Steam Pocket Mop version with 2 heads and 4 microfiber pocket pads ... but I am SO glad I did. I LOVE this steam mop. I have TILE and WOOD floors throughout my house and they have been nearly impossible to keep clean (as evidenced by my kids' no-so-white sock bottoms). Anyway, I had been researching all of the various steam mops trying to find that "perfect" mop that would work miracles. I thought I had decided on one, but then (while flipping channels) saw the infomercial for this mop. It appeared to be EXACTLY what I was looking for. As with most infomercials, I was VERY skeptical that the product would REALLY do what it claimed to do. Luckily, I took the leap of faith, and purchased one from Amazon.com. I could not be happier with this mop. It REALLY does STEAM (alot) and get all of the gross built up dirt and grime off the floors. I HATE cleaning floors! I'm more of a carpet person, so for me to say I love this product is absolutely amazing. I had a Hoover FloorMate (which I purchased 7 years ago), but it was ALOT of effort to clean up AFTER ... and it only had the brush scrubbers (so it didn't really WIPE the floors clean) AND it required the special Hoover cleaner (which I ruined mine by using Pine Sol ... which it specifically says not to use). Then I moved to the cheaper (although, not really after you buy all of the disposable pads and cleaner) Swiffer Wet Jet. It was ok for the quick clean-ups, IF my floor was already pretty much clean to begin with. But the Swiffer Wet Jet never CLEANED my floors. It was EXTREMELY frustrating to spend time and money cleaning and then STILL see the dirty sock bottoms (which meant the floors weren't really clean). PLEASE NOTE: There are TWO (2) versions of the NEWER MODEL steam mop ... the PURPLE version has 2 heads (rectangle and triangle) with 5 PADS (2 rectangle, 2 triangle, 1 purple duster) and the SILVER/metallic version has 3 heads (XL rectangle, rectangle and triange) and 4 PADS (1 XL rectangle, 1 rectangle, 1 triangle, 1 purple duster). Both have the carpet glider. The XL kit, as well as extra PADS can all be purchased separately. I bought mine at Newegg. The things I like about the Euro Pro Shark Steam Pocket Mop are ... 1. It has a LONG 30ft. cord so you are not constantly plugging and unplugging, 2. It has sturdy/thick microfiber machine washable/reusable TWO-SIDED pads (all of the stains don't come out, but they have held up VERY well to repeated washings), 3. It has a LARGE water tank, so you are not constantly re-filling the tank, 4. It has a SWIVEL head (3 different HEAD sizes/shapes) that FLIPS for two-sided cleaning, 5. It really STEAMS while cleaning and gets off the built on dirt, 6. It cleans WITHOUT any chemicals ... only tap water (I prefer using hot water), 7. It HEATS up quickly (under a minute ... although I usually let it heat for 5 minutes). Things you should know ... 1. As with mopping, you need to vacuum or sweep BEFORE steam mopping (do this WHILE the mop is heating up). 2. Filling with hot water worked best for me. 3. PUMP/prime the mop about 10 times before you start mopping (this gets the STEAM really going). 4. Make sure you have AT LEAST 2 pads (4-sides of cleaning), especially if your floors are dirty. 5. Do NOT keep using the same pad side once it is dirty (so, check the bottom as you go) or your floors will not be cleaned and look streaky when they dry. 6. I don't *think* this mop actually gets hot enough to really sanitize (I'm not sure if any of them do), but I spray/squirt some vinegar on the floor as I go and mop over that and it seems to work. 7. The steam mop is made of hard plastic, so I'm not sure how well the handle itself is going to last over time with repeated pumpings, etc. I've noticed several reviewers

Bissell Spotlifter Powerbrush Handheld Deep Cleaner, 1716B

Bissell Spotlifter Powerbrush Handheld Deep Cleaner - the quickest way to clean spots and spills

Amazon Sales Rank: #9320 in Home Color: White Brand: Bissell Model: 1716B Number of items: 1 Dimensions: 7.40" h x 9.80" w x 18.50" l, 6.95 pounds Continuous suction and brushing to target stains and spots on carpet Motorized dual brush roll Manual spray trigger lets you control cleaning solution Brush cartridge removes for clean-up and maintenance 16 by 5.5 by 8.88 inches; weighs 4.1 pounds

Amazon.com Review Traditional vacuums handle dust and dirt, but some spots and stains call for more rigorous measures. The Bissell Spotlifter Powerbrush deep cleaner targets just such problems with powerful rotating brushes and a tank of cleaning solution. During operation, continuous suction ensures that surfaces don’t get too wet and that dirt and stains are sucked up quickly and efficiently. The machine includes a manual spray trigger, so you can decide how much solution to use depending on the surface and the damage. The Spotlifter is a fairly maneuverable appliance--about the same to handle as the average large hand vacuum. Filling and emptying the separate clean and dirty water tanks is notably simple--they just slide off the back end of the machine one at a time. The brush roll cartridge is also removable for easy upkeep or replacement of the brushes. The cleaner comes with an 8-ounce starter bottle of Little Green Cleaning Solution. Bissell also includes a circuit interrupting safety device and a one-year warranty.

By Sandi Hultman We struggled between buying this unit and the comperable Dirt Devil offering, when we saw them at the local discount stores. Liking the stiffer dual-rotating beater-bar style brushes on the Bissell better than the much softer brushes on the spinning disk the Dirt Devil had, we settled on the Bissell. At the store, the only negative factor for the Bissell appeared to be it's one-year warranty, versus the two-years offered with the Dirt Devil. We did not consider a cordless model, presuming they would be less powerful. We also did not consider a model without scrub brushes.I used our new Bissell briefly last night on a couple of recent pet stains, and it did a good job. Today, I used it on all the rest of the pet stains on our light living room carpet, many of which were old. Almost all of them lifted well. The Bissell clean tank will hold a full 8 oz. (3-4 oz. cleaning product and 4 oz. water), compared to the Dirt Devil that only holds a total of 6 oz. It does a decent job of suctioning up liquid. Many with the Dirt Devil seem to complain that it's suction is inadequate, and we did test its suction at the store and agree that it is weak. The manual doesn't document the total clean tank size, how many ounces the "Formula" fill line is at, or how many the "Water" fill line is at, but I measured them. This way I know the proper dilution, if I choose to mix some of the cleaning product into a regular spray bottle for pretreating convenience, without hauling the heavier unit around. (They suggest leaving the pretreat on for 3-5 minutes.)Note that once you've filled the clean tank, if you have a lot left over you do not have to empty it. You can save it for next time. (The disadvantage to doing this is that you would no longer have warm water to help you clean better.)The 20' cord was more than adequate for us to get to the areas we needed to clean. Others complain that the Dirt Devil's cord is too big, but I'm not sure if that means diameter or length. The cord on the Bissell flows nicely. It isn't stiff and doesn't stay too curled up to be able to be used easily. It even had a convenient velcro strap that stays attached, to help you manage the cord for storage. The unit is really easy to fill, operate and clean. Both the clean tank and the dirty tank detach and reattach very easily. Even the beater brush cartridge removes easily for cleaning. It only took me a few minutes to have it ready for storage again. Dirt Devil users complain that reattaching a tank is not always easy. This is not a full size steam cleaner and I don't think it's fair to expect it to behave like one. It's great for the purpose it's designed for. Be sure to vacuum your capet before using it, if you haven't done so recently. This will minimize the amount of hair etc. to clean out of the brushes when you are finished using the Bissell. I did not do this, and it still wasn't bad to clean out the brushes. The unit has a solid and durable feel to it. Dirt Devil users seem to think that unit is flimsey and has an awkward manual solution/water sprayer.I think the product works well and would recommend it over the Dirt Devil. I am happy with it 176 of 177 people found the following review helpful. One powerful little cleaner By Samantha Rupinski I have mostly hardwood in my home, but I do have a little bit of carpet, so I bought one of these for the small spots and spills. I have 3 kids and 2 dogs, so it seems that accidents are a daily occurence. I used this Spotlifter on some old pop stains that have been on the carpet for months, and it got them out no problem. I couldn't believe how well it worked and how dirty the water was that came out of my carpet. It worked so well that I decied to try it on my couch and chair, and it did a great job on them as well. Next stop was my car's interior, which was no small feat. It made my 6 year old minivan look and

I have used it countless times already!! The first time I used it I thought it wasn't doing anything...until I did the paper towel test. I scrubbed the area I just went over with the steam mop and the paper towel was WHITE!! I then scrubbed an adjacent area that I did not steam and the paper towel turned gray. We have a very busy household with a dog and a two year old. I cleaned all of our sealed hardwood floors and ceramic tile and now when my 2 year old runs around in her white socks they STAY WHITE!! It is truly amazing. I feel like an infomercial but I really could not be happier with this purchase. My husband got black shoe polish all over our light hardwood floors. Soap and water would not budge it. I pulled out the steam mop just to try it out...shoe polish came right up with one run over it with the steam mop. WOW!! Another plus is that as long as you change the pads regularly the floors are completely dry once you pass over an area. So you don't have to worry about family and pets tracking their dirty shoes and paws through your freshly mopped floors. Now the cons (though not that bad to me): 1. You are tethered to an outlet. Not too much a problem as we have many outlets all over the house. If you are like me you were changing the water in the mop bucket frequently when using a regular mop...so moving a cord around is much preferred in my book. 2. You have to fill the mop with 8oz of water every 20 minutes or so. A little red light comes on to tell you to fill it up. I have to add water about 4 times to do all the high traffic areas in my home. 3. The microfiber pads need to be changed regularly. Once the pad is saturated it starts to leave wetness that lingers on the floor. If I use two microfibers pads per 8oz. fill-up it seems to be the perfect balance. I have 6 microfiber pads and that is perfect for my 1800 sq ft house. 4. Using the steam mop is a little slower than regular mopping. You don't just rush the mop over the floor. You have to move a little slower so that it has time to steam up the mess and then grab it in the microfiber pad. This adds a little extra time but totally worth it since there are no chemicals and the floor is completely sanitized. I sure wish I had this product when my daughter was crawling. It would have saved time and my back from scrubbing the floors by hand. Oh, I have the carpet attachment. This is great for sanitizing the carpet, bedding and upholstery. We are an allergic household so it seems to work well for this. You do not use the microfiber pads when using this attachment so I am not sure that it would remove stains. I have not tried it for that yet...but I will when I have the chance. 21 of 21 people found the following review helpful. Fabulous -- Big Time Saver By Kim This is the best money I have spent in a long time and would even recommend the product to my mother-in-law....doesn't that say it all...... Finally, a steam cleaner that works....after having tried four others I was gratefully surprised! While you don't see the steam, because it comes out the bottom directly to the floor and not out the sides, it cleans so fast that it took me a few tries to learn that I don't have to move the machine slowly for it to work. I have never had such a clean wood floor so fast! Then, I used the carpet glider and freshened the carpet my stinky dogs have enjoyed for years. I was shocked that the smell actually left! And I spent no more than 5 minutes. The HAAN....a working mom's best friend! 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful. Great light duty cleaner By J. By GrammyLu I have owned this wonderful product for nearly 4 three years and it's still going strong. Our GreatRoom (kitchen, living & dining room areas) has hardwood floors and carpets and the Oreck handles everything with ease. I really love the detachable feature. With one button ease I'm able to remove the head and get crumbs around the refrigerator and prep areas, dust along the edges and get crumbs in the drawers. Why wipe when you can vacuum? Oreck's powerful suction picks up sugar spills on the counter and floor in a flash and the beater-bar does a nice job on low profile rugs. I use it everyday after the grandkids leave to freshen up and it keeps a charge for nearly a week. It won't replace your big vac but it will save you dragging it out for quick pickups. It's so light weight that my 3 yr old granddaughter even insists on picking up her own messes. The broom stores easily too. It's well constructed and looks as good today as it did when it was brand new. 4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Low Suction and Battery Life By Bernard L. Sapiens We should really be hired to test vacuum and carpet cleaners, but even so the price of this dream clean machine gave me some pause (okay, a lot). With 2 kids, 3 dogs, and 2 cats and fairly light carpets, we put our cleaners to the test. I have gone through SEVERAL carpet cleaners (roughly 1 every 2 years) and have also had the carpets professionally cleaned. Honestly, this carpet cleaner cleaned as well if not better than the pros, and worlds better than our current Hoover F6207-900 SteamVac Lite Carpet Cleaner with Heated Cleaning. Pros: 1) Handle can lay back fully with no strain on the hose - I mention this after replacing the hoses several times on previous Hoovers 2) You do NOT have to mix the detergent!!!! Wow - what a great feature, no waste! 3) 2 separate rollers actually scrub the carpet amazingly well 4) No fuss dial system - incredibly easy to go between standard clean, spot clean (does not pick up so you can scrub, scrub, scrub away the years of bad carpet cleaners), and rinse (the water rinse is GREAT!) 5) Easy to follow indicator lights let you know if you know when it is cleaning (detergent), rinsing (water only), or drying (neither light on) 6) Spot clean is easy to follow - actually squirts out the front so you can actually see the spot you are hitting (2 settings, spray or stream) 7) My previous Hoovers had this obnoxious detachable hose reel, and then when the clips that hold it on break, you find yourself dragging accessories around the house - this one is not detachable. 8) The hose remains attached, you don't have to plug it in, so no hose door to break and lose (yeah, I've done that too) 9) Scrubber assembly comes off easily for cleaning (but not the front roller, which might be a problem if you don't maintain it) 10) generous cord longer than previous Hoovers 11) 6 year warranty makes it cheaper than replacing 3 $200 Hoovers with 1 year warranties (just check where your service center is - ours is about 30 miles away and always very responsive) 12) Since it is clear plastic (opposed to grey or purple) it is easier to see when the water being picked up becomes fairly clear indicating you have extracted the maximum amount of dirt you can Cons: 1) It's big - and heavy - and I have tons of stairs 2) Blue light shining on carpet - this gives me eye strain after a while 3) Waste container - there's no delicate way to dump it - it's opening is like a big bucket and it gets everywhere. I suppose it will get better with practice, and it is easier to clean this way, but I think it was a step backward 4) Very small holes to pour in the detergent and water - buy a funnel since the detergent is pricey 5) Detergent guzzler Eh's (take 'em or leave 'em): 1) Heat - I don't think it really did much (It didn't feel substantial) 2) Waste container sensor - doesn't detect the detergent well, with the clear plastic, it's pretty obvious when they need emptying/filling 3) Blue light - why blue - simulated uv? It doesn't actually illuminate anything. 4) Carry handle - it's made of molded plastic and is in the back, so... yeah, pretty awkward hoisting it up and down the stairs. But, I really don't have a better option, so am not putting it as a con. How did it do??? If I had known how well it would do, I would have taken pictures or video, because it is unbelievable. I cleaned my ancient 15 year old carpets (about 1600 sq. feet worth) and actually managed to get them back very near their original color. Shockingly old stains that my kidlets provided that were not removed by the pros or the old cleaners are gone. One caveat here is that I used around 64 ounces of detergent. I started with the professional grade, but used the cheap stuff in the kids' rooms (smells better anyway). Based on the amount used and lack of discernable difference, I cannot recommend the "professional" cleaner

By KarenFan I purchased this handy sweeper from Sears because I wanted something to pick up after the kids and our pets without having to lug the big vacuum out all the time just to clean up small messes. I was initially skeptical at first, but I knew I would be able to return it to Sears if I wasn't entirely satisfied. The setup and assembly was very quick. Just screw the wands together, attach it to the base, then charge it up. The first charge needs a full 16 hours to condition the batteries, thereafter the unit only needs 12 hours to recharge. I couldn't believe what this thing picked up. Everything from cat hair, litter, crumbs, and just about everything else that manages to find its way to the floor and carpet. Of course, sweepers aren't meant for big, hefty jobs, or for deep cleaning your carpets(this is a job for your vacuum), but they sure come in handy for in-between cleanups of small spills and messes. However, it's important to remember that sweepers are *NOT* vacuums. They have NO suction. They are designed to "sweep" the surface of your carpet and floors for quick, light pick-ups. That being said, I've been completely let down by Dustbusters and all those other "handvacs" that really didn't do anything but make a bunch of noise and lose their power after about 10 minutes of use. After using this, I figure I should only need to thoroughly vacuum once or twice a week now, instead of the usual everyday vacuuming that I used to do... Bissell has designed a real winner here. I'm just curious to see how long the unit and the batteries will last. For some reason, they're still using old NiCad technology here, which is famous for developing the "memory effect" that renders them all but useless after about a year or so. The manual also says the batteries are NOT replaceable and must be disposed of when the unit has reached its useful life... The sweeper has a one(1)year warranty, so we'll see how that works out. For now, I'm extremely pleased with this purchase, and would recommend this to anyone who needs a sweeper or simply wants a quick fix for lugging the main vacuum out all the time. Excellent product! 65 of 68 people found the following review helpful. Great for smooth, wood floors; mediocre for tile floors By Sheryl Miller We bought the sweeper based on its Consumer Reports rating and were a bit disappointed. We have three types of hard floors in our home: Pergo, tile with shallow grout, and tile with deep grout. The sweeper is perfect on the Pergo, okay on the tile with shallow grout, and only so-so on the tile with deep grout. The suction is not strong enough to pick up the dirt in the deep grout. Regardless of the floor type, long hair gets wrapped around the rotating bristles and must be cleaned by hand. On a positive note, the profile of the cleaner is very short, making it a breeze to get under overhanging cabinets, beds, etc. 49 of 51 people found the following review helpful. Ehhh. Better off using a real broom. By A. Marcos I purchased this little sweeper because the reviews here and on consumer Reports were pretty good. The unit was very easy to assemble and doesn't take up as much room as the others. It also holds a nice charge. Here's the phooey part: 1. The side brushes stopped working after the 1st day. After they stopped working, the side brushes started hoarding the dirt rather than feeding it into the sweeper. Prior to my purchase, I was under the assumption that the side brushes were powered by the sweeper...but it really operates on a push\pull system. As you push the sweeper...the brushes rotate. On my second day, I was pushing and it was no longer moving. 2. The dirt bin\catcher is too small and difficult to clean. I purchased this unit specifically for sweeping up dog hair. It picks up most of the stuff I go over (NOT ALL)...and when I go to empty it out...I have to pull

By Mespo When I started doing research on purchasing a dry vapor steamer, I was going to go with a middle of the road version - not cheap at 600 bucks, but not as nice as this one for sure. I finally decided to go with the ladybug after weeks of poring over information and comparing. One of the best decisions - I use this thing for EVERYTHING. Other machines, when the water gets low, you have to turn off the machine and unplug it and let it cool for like 40 minutes before you can refill it and then turn it back on and wait for it to heat up again. I don't have time to do that - I have to squeeze my cleaning time in when my toddler is napping or sleeping. I can basically fill the tank, plug it in and turn it on and it's ready to go in about 15 minutes - while it's heating up initially, I clear away the clutter in the room. I start in the kitchen and use the triangle brush with the terrycloth towel to clean the counters, cupboards, fridge and sink basin. This literally takes a couple of minutes tops. It took me SO much longer with crap chemicals and paper towels and/or a sponge. This you just glide over the surfaces and it just melts away the grease and junk and gets soaked up into the towel. It also cools very quickly (like almost instantly) when you stop pulling the trigger for the steam, so I can easily pop off the attachment and put on the spray nozzel and blast the nookes and crannies in the sink, around the handles and the dish sprayer. Then I'll usually get carried away and start disinfecting the drains, cabinet handles, the seal around the fridge and freezer that captures crumbs and grows mildew, the seal area around the dishwasher door that gets disgusting, the stove burners, etc etc etc. But again, this all takes a few minutes. You just fly from one thing to the next and the steam is so hot it is almost dry even after being blasted by the spray nozzel. I usually just wipe over with the another terrycloth towel for the heck of it but you don't have to. Then I slap on the rectangle attachment and toss a towel on there (btw, the short DVD it comes with shows you how to diaper the towel onto the attachments (you don't have to, but they are really nice in capturing the crud that this thing imulsifies off of any surface. It takes about 5 seconds total to do it since the clips are super strong and easy to use) and quickly steam the floor. You can seriously clean and disinfect the entire kitchen in a matter of minutes without a single chemical. Even though we had switched to all natural cleaners, they still leave residue and many have strong scents. Another thing I noticed is that with a dry vapor steamer, everything gleams when it's been cleaned (and our kitchen is super old!). I never realized just how matte the surfaces were after using cleaners since they leave a film behind and a steamer does not. It's just water that you are using. At this point, after using the blast nearly full steam on the sink for a few minutes, I switch the machine off and can instantly open the cap and refill the tank. You don't have to refill it until it beeps that it's running low, but I usually do it after each major room (bathrooms, kitchen) that I clean because why not? You don't have to wait for it to cool like other machines, you can do it on the fly. Then you pick it up and move it to the next room (for me I tackle the bathrooms next) and plug it in and turn it on and it signals it's ready in a couple minutes (about 2-3) Again, I clean up the clutter in those few minutes and then I'm ready to steam away the bathroom germs. Triangle brush on the walls, ceilings (big mildew hotspot, we have the kind you can't really see. You have to wipe it down and then you see the telltale pink residue on the towel), mirrors, counters, showers, sinks then the floors. I do it in this order so I go from cleanest thing to dirtiest thing - the same towel

When in deep-cleaning mode, its built-in heater quickly heats hot tap water up to 25 degrees hotter for enhanced results. By stilettostarlet I was very hesitant to purchase this vacuum because of the bad reviews. Glad I didn't listen and went for it. This vacuum DOES NOT have a suction problem! I am fairly confident the issue is people don't read and comprehend the user manual. The problem comes down to TWO fill lines on the water tank. The fill line on the front (which is easy to see) is the water line when you must EMPTY the water tank. The real water fill line for normal vacuum operation is on the back of the water tank and is harder to see. The water fill line on the back is about 1-2 gallons less water than the one on the front. I did an experiment and the more full the water tank, the less suction power (makes sense as more water in the tank means it is harder to pull air through the system). When the proper amount of water is used (or even a little less to cheat) this thing has great suction! Biggest positive: 1- Water filtered vacuum is awesome. This allows for almost zero dust being expelled from the vacuum. No longer do I get "allergy nose" after I vacuum for an hour or so. As much as I like this product, I can't give it 5 stars. Drawbacks: 1- The canister is pretty large and heavy. I could not imagine my grandmother using this vacuum. 2- Wish the wand was a little longer or adjustable. I'm 6ft and need to bend a bit. 3- The lid on the water tank doesn't have a latch, if the canister ever flips over you are going to have a mess on your hands. 38 of 41 people found the following review helpful. Excellent carpet cleaning, poor vacuum By Chris Nagele I was really excited about this because of the multi-function use. At the same time, I was skeptical. Our little dog likes to pee in small places on the carpet, so we needed good carpet cleaner that would deep clean these areas. The carpet cleaner works very well. Both the large cleaner extension and the handheld spray and suction the water, which most others do not do. It was a decision between this and the Hoover Agility. The Agility does not seem to have a sprayer on the extension hose. When it comes to the vacuum, it's not that great. The suction is only good enough for area rugs. The carpet extension has a air powered brush that stops working on normal carpet and it only cleans the top surface debris. So, if you want something for hardwood and deep carpet cleaning this is great. Just don't try to replace a regular vacuum cleaning with this. 13 of 13 people found the following review helpful. New Big Green Clean Machine better than ever! By Patricia Flynn-Williams We had one of the original Big Green Clean Machines for many, many years and used it regularly - loved it. When ours finally breathed its last, I started shopping for a new one and found that the new incarnation offered way more than the original. I ordered it - it arrived promptly and we immediately started to use it. It is a great machine and does virtually everything - shampooing, vacuuming - does it all. Much better than the old one. Can't go wrong buying this machine. See all 32 customer reviews...

Morrison I've had good luck with Bissell products, so, given conflicting reviews for other devices an insufficient reviews for the Steam Shot, I purchased one. OK--it's true. Infomercials for such products are deceptive. Using chemical cleaners is a great deal faster and "easier" than this. Tortoise vs. the hare: This trudges very slowly compared to traditional cleaning. It requires patience. My concerns with chemical cleaners include the residues left over that attract dirt and dust again, the unpleasantness of using and then worrying about chemicals, and, the concerns about using them near foodstuffs, utensils, prep and cooking surfaces, and, pots and pans. The advantage of the Steam Shot (and, likely other similar "electric kettle" hand held colleague devices) is, that once a surface or item is clean, it really "is" clean. I don't have any fear or qualms even about using this on kitchen utensils, bread makers, microwaves, and, oven windows. It's also very good at cleaning kitchen cabinet fronts and vertical surfaces such as the outside of the dishwasher, trash compactor, and the fridge. One thing this is extraordinary at is getting at dirt between a metal (or porcelain) surface (say, a sink or stove) and counter tops (Formica, etc.). It's amazing at "rooting" out such dirt! This is also true of the "line" between back splashes and counter tops. I think that "touch-up" cleaning later on will be faster and easier.... Candle wax on the brick of the hearth? (Or a wall?--I'll need now to patch-paint!) The wax is tedious to remove in any case, yet, this is the best solution I've found--the unit definitely will melt wax so that it's easier to remove--absolutely! As for waiting on the steam, I'm simply busy with scrubbing with a cloth or noting where to clean next--this is not a big problem for me; it seems that, as time goes on, heating up again is pretty fast. I've heard the item's boiling water while heating up. Although it's not always so hot, the steam can become really hot--I certainly believe it becomes hot enough to kill pathogens! It may certainly burn fingers, also, so precautions are smart. Despite what other reviewers think, my Steam Shot becomes very hot: It works! I'm not absolutely certain, but the "kettle" inside appears to be comprised of metal. The plastic of the unit and of the accessories appears to be high quality, also. (When finished with the Steam Shot--allow it to cool sufficiently, then, slowly open the knob until it's removed (steam may slowly vent while opening). Then, before dumping the water, turn the unit slowly on its side over your sink and dump the water out--away from you--hopefully, the water won't "jet" out into your sink really quickly or explosively. (If so, this indicates that the water still is super-heated and dangerous (after all, it was both heated and pressurized): You don't want it ever to "jet" out at you or anyone else. Let the unit cool sufficiently longer next time!) Conclusion: This is nifty, and I enjoy cleaning with it. For heavy cleaning, this requires patience, but, I believe patience is rewarded and saves money! For certain unique household cleaning needs, this fits the bill really well! I haven't tried it, but, a dirty bar-b-q grate likely is too heavy a cleaning task for this. That always has been a pain.... 53 of 53 people found the following review helpful. Great little helper! By Bonnie I just used mine for the first time (bought it elsewhere). I used it to clean the stained grout on the kitchen floor. The dog had gotten into the trash several times, so the grout was stained dark brown from coffee grinds. This little steamer did a good job of removing most of the stain. Looking at two sections - steamed and unsteamed - there is an incredible difference, enough so that my floor will not be embarrassing when I am finished. I used the grout attachment at first,
